Very mediocre dimsum - I strongly recommend anyone in the area or etc to just make the drive to Vancouver for better food since the pricing is the same. I travelled to Coquitlam from Vancouver to try this place and I'm not coming back. Also terrible service. I hate to say it but it's also very typical Chinese restaurant customer service. The following situation didn't happen to me but to the table beside me.This table of four (Chinese, 40s and 60s+, and female) was looking to order and one of the older patrons was asking the server if they had a specific taro dish in (asking in Cantonese) and the server responded "we have everything". The server didn't even stop to look at the customer and was just responding as she continued walking away.A few mins later the server came back to grab their order sheet but the customer asked again if they had the taro dish. The server rudely told her to mark on it the order sheet if she wants it. The customer said she can't read it/see it. The server then rudely tells her to ask her daughter (also seated at the table) to mark the order sheet and walks away.I saw the entire thing and was just appalled. Would have easily taken the server a minute to help the customer fill out the order sheet or point out which item the taro dish was. Also, my friend wanted a diet soda and asked the server if they had any. The server repeats "diet Coke or Pepsi? ". My friend says either is fine as long as it's diet. The server gives her a regular Pepsi.

We just had the Emperor crab set meal at their place. We also ordered three other dishes, but they were tasteless and really unpleasant. The service attitude was very poor. Finally, when dessert was served, there were four adults and one child in total. They only gave us four bowls of sweet soup. When we asked if we could have one more bowl, we were scolded. I don't know why there are so many good reviews. We won't go there again in the future.Extremely disrespectful!!!

Good food but service was a bit lacking. We sat on our table for almost 30 mins and no one would take our order despite asking a few times.

Beautiful. First time for us. But r Coquitlam fam hv b there for years. Friendly staff. Great service. Generous portion. Good food. Excellent menus. Two things stand out. 1/ value for money oh…my - unbelievable. Also, for set menu free starter ( ie daily soup) free fried rice or free fried noodle n free dessert-soup. Very very few do these three. Most just plain white rice. 2/ Very clean n spacious ? oh…my. Huge thank you to the managers Jenny n ah-lan who took care of our table. Beautiful ????. Once again thank you very much. Our must go to restaurant in the tri-city.

Eat at Merlot. Although they are very busy on New Year's Day. But still very keen to take care of every guest's needs. The food doesn't get lost in the holiday rush. It is a good hotel in Coquitlam that does not bully others.Dietary restrictions: Pepper pork belly and chicken. Good taste.

I hope to have a happy dinner with my family during the New Year, but I accidentally stumbled into a low-quality restaurant. The service was lower than usual. Everyone on the floor acted like a big boss. It was difficult to get service if you didn't ask for it. It was the most annoying thing. I used a credit card to pay the bill, but was refused a 10% tip. They said it could only start from 12%, and the card machine couldn't change it. They also had a very bad attitude, as if they were collecting money or collecting debts. Then they asked me how much the total amount was, which was convenient. In a hurry, I casually mentioned a round number, and the tip was about 1.25% less, but I was charged back and said it was not up to 10%. Afterwards, I calculated carefully and paid a tip that satisfied them, but consumers must do the same. To satisfy businessmen in this way, what kind of world is this, where you get something for nothing and the laws are self-reliant? It’s ridiculous. Please remember it!
