This café has the best tables and chairs, which really help you focus on your own work. The seating is comfortable and well-spaced, so you don’t feel distracted by others. The service is also excellent — the staff kindly bring your orders directly to your seat, which makes the experience even more convenient and relaxing.
The atmosphere is calm and cozy, with soft background music that doesn’t interrupt your concentration. It’s a perfect place for studying, reading, or working on your laptop for hours. The coffee tastes rich and well-balanced, and the desserts are fresh and delicious.
In particular, the morning manager is extremely friendly and professional. They brew the coffee exceptionally well, bringing out its deep aroma and smooth flavor. Thanks to their warm hospitality and skill, every visit feels even more special. I would definitely recommend this café to anyone looking for a quiet and productive space.

Paparoti Café is a lovely place with a great atmosphere. The staff are professional, kind, and welcoming, especially Mana and Sandy. I definitely recommend this café to others ❤️😊
i don’t know what on earth is going on at paparoti but this place just isn’t what it used to be. I hadn’t come to visit in a few months but why do the staff wear aprons and uniforms now?? the baristas used to be so stylish and the shop had so much character. the place has lost its charm. and the uniforms don’t even look more professional they just look tacky. seems like management keeps implementing changes no one wants or asked for, and baristas seem just sort of down all the time. usually management is to blame… the owners are lucky for the great service otherwise I would quit giving my money to them
I hate to be writing this review...
I have been a regular at Papparoti for many years, it is a local gem and was by far my favorite coffee and study spot in Coquitlam. Recently though I have been quite disappointed with a few things.
I have been served by a new male employee who is clearly struggling. I think his name is Amir, and he doesn't seem to know anything about the drinks?? I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt as he is new but it has been multiple instances now where my drink is made incorrectly or just poorly made (I ordered a cortado many times, and each time it was sour, watery and the milk was just steamed badly??) I also see him there now very frequently and for long hours instead of the amazing baristas who would always serve me before and I really hope they aren't getting their hours cut for this guy. I'm not sure if he just needs more training but its been a few weeks and he definitely shouldn't be on the floor. He also isn't warm and friendly at all like the other baristas. VERY disappointed. What is the point of hiring someone new if they are very underqualified and are not a positive addition to the team......?
Also something about the place just feels wrong now. I tend to stick around for a couple hours doing work and I have witnessed on multiple occasions that baristas will leave for their break i assume but return very shortly after if it gets busy. I wasn't sure if I was misreading the situation, so I asked the barista once and she confirmed that they sometimes get called back if it is busy because the only other option is one person working alone during a rush. THIS IS NOT OKAY!!! It truly doesn't sit right with me and some changes need to be made.
The service was excellent. The staff and employees were polite and kind. The atmosphere of the coffee shop was very positive and peaceful, and I enjoyed it. It was great that it was open until 10 pm. The drinks and sandwiches were delicious, especially the Jamaica and the lemon cake, which was professional and delicious.

Cozy space, nice comfortable chairs, courteous staff and management, feels like home! Good variety of yummy treats. Lately, I've noticed staff wearing aprons, which I believe makes them look more professional than before. Add some caps too! :) It's a really good change!
I really like the improvements the new management has implemented. The TVs and the digital menu boards have added considerable value to the place!

What happened to the staff? They seem a bit miserable after new owners made changes.
Hopefully it gets better soon but idk. Places with unhappy staff are known for lousy management.

This is one of the best coffee shops I've been to, it is a great place to relax. The staff are very friendly and nice, they bring your order to your table! and it has a great atmosphere. They have a very large menu, a lot of drinks that every coffee shop has and also several of their own specialty drinks, fruit mix drinks, variety of coffee cakes and also food options, soups and a lot of different sandwiches. I believe they must have recently upgraded their wifi too because it has become really fast in the last week or so. I really like the fact that they are open late on Fridays and Saturdays till 11pm as most of the other places are closed around this area. The coffee shop building also has very large glass windows on two sides that makes it really nice and open. Overall it is a great place to relax, grab a quality beverage or sandwich and enjoy the view.

Uniforms for such a casual cafe is a huge downgrade. What a waste. Horribly fitted black t-shirts to replace each baristas own personality and style? No thank you. Food is alright, drinks are great, service is always amazing.
Very upsetting to see staff with itchy red marks from the shirts and too see how uncomfortable they are. A smart move from the OWNER would be to REVERT BACK to CASUAL DRESS for the staff. Their clothing has never been an issue, nor have any of the staff members dressed inappropriately/ unprofessionally. Why dehumanize the face of your buisness by making them all wear the same thing including hats? Gross. Terrible TERRIBLE owner.
JUSTICE FOR THE EMPLOYEES.
TIP YOUR BARISTAS.

Honestly, the staff is what makes this business. Everyone is so sweet and friendly and I love how each of them are so stylish, it really gives the place personality.
Edited: im updating my review to indicate my disappointment in the new outfits that all the baristas now have to wear because part of the reason why I come into Papa Rotti is genuinely because of the baristas. I LOVE their style, it makes the place unique and brings alot of character. The last thing we want is to be reminded that the coffee shop is a cookie cutter franchise.

This cafe isn't the same as it used to be.
When I visited Paparoti in Vancouver, I liked the simple menu layout and the cozy environment. I also enjoyed how the baristas wore everyday clothes that had a personalized style.
When I went to the Coquitlam location, I was annoyed at the environment. The menu is blue and tacky, posters are blue, but the barista uniforms were not blue, but bright red. Honestly this additional red seems out of place and I rather wish to not see it. It looks like it straight up came out of 1984 but went through a sad circus.
I go here once in a while, but now I'm honestly not sure if I want to anymore.
TL;DR
Please get rid of this red 1984 styled apron!! It's very distracting.

Very nicely design place, quiet, fast and polite service. A little bit expensive, but they have to pay their bills as well. In the summer will be in that shade part of the building. Will visit again.

Food and service was good. Feel bad though, the staff had to work until 10 pm on a holiday. Hopefully maangement or owner can close earlier so they can enjoy some time with family.
