This place was run by an older couple, and honestly, I didn’t like their attitude at all – they seemed very impatient.
I had several questions, but they really didn’t have the patience to answer. I even asked for permission to take a few photos for a review, but they said absolutely not.
The place was not clean either; the walls and frames were full of cobwebs, and I ended up cleaning my own table.
I ordered a coffee and a butter bagel, and there were even pieces of butter skin left in my sandwich!
I don’t think I’d come back a second time.

So delicious best soup ever, fresh made bread, great sandwiches. I love everything about this place. Literally only complained as the bathroom could be cleaner, but I mean that won't stop me!

I've enjoyed Soup Plus in Coquitlam for decades. A staple for just over 23 years. A great place to grab a soup and sandwich, get a fresh coffee and relax reading the paper. A very homestyle and cozy environment. You have to pop in to try one of the many fresh daily soups before they sell out. Recommended.

Old man is old school. Stepping in, the interior takes you back to how everything was. Simple, straight forward and delicious food. The sandwich was soo good. The bun is made in house and i had mine toasted. I didn't get a chance to try the soups, but im looking forward to trying the mushroom soup.

Above average sandwiches. They are really good since all bread is made in house. The owners are real nice too. Love to support this local spot

I politely asked if the soup was vegetarian, and the lady at the counter snapped back, “Can you not see or read?” I was shocked by how dismissive and unprofessional that response was. A simple question should never be met with sarcasm—especially when customers are just trying to confirm ingredients for dietary or personal reasons. This kind of attitude makes the whole experience unpleasant.

This is the softest bread I ever had. The couple in the decor made me feel like I was on holiday.
Very happy to have stumbled on this place

I came across this place on Google Maps because I was tired of having Sushi for the last few days. So I typed in the word “sandwiches“ and this place came up. The only reason I chose to go here was because of all the good reviews. When I entered I was drawn to this very rustic, but charming sandwich shop with what appears to be long-term customers. I was greeted by an older man and woman and just told me to holler at them when I am ready to order.
I ordered the BLT sandwich. While they were making it, I told them that I saw a lot of good reviews on Google maps about their establishment and they SCOFFED at my statement. I told them that it is a good thing that they have a lot of good reviews and they DOUBLED DOWN on scoffing at me and told me to get my face out of my phone and go and experience each restaurant for myself instead of relying on reviews I told them that I would never have even known that this place existed, as it is nestled in between a laundromat and a hair salon in the corner of a very small parking lot. I told them without it I would never have discovered this place, let alone all the good reviews. However, you cannot tell this couple anything about the Internet lol. They look at it as the devils playground from the way they were putting it down, despite all of their good reviews. I gotta tell ya - the couple has so much personality that I can overlook the fact that I was being told that what I am doing is incorrect. I can also overlook the fact that they are putting down all of their good reviews because I will tell you this… If I passed by this place on any given day, I would never give it a second thought, but because I chose to go in there and order my food, I can tell you that I will be going back there very soon!
They told me they have had Soup Plus for 23 years and plan to be there for another 35 years. If you want a no fuss, no muss place for a sandwich and a few baked goods then this is the place. Their bread is homemade, and they even went through the trouble of explaining why they choose to make their own bread as opposed to buying it wholesale . They put integrity and quality over profiting and I will take that any day over high volume output shop.
There are not a huge amount of choices, and when I ordered the BLT, they never asked if I wanted salt or mayo or if I had any kind of allergies lol. This was a straight up old school shop: you order what’s on the menu, you get what you get, and you don’t get upset!

This is honestly the best soup and sandwiches I've ever had. Moved to chilliwack and still thinn about it. Love the atmosphere and the couple. You guys are the best.

Turns out the other reviews were right about the customer service. Dropped by on a weekday lunch hour and waited nearly 20 minutes just to place an order. The atmosphere felt oddly unwelcoming, and it seemed like new customers weren’t exactly part of the plan. While there is a small sign noting they don’t accept credit cards, it’s easy to miss—and not something they go out of their way to mention. It’s one of those spots where you line up, order, pick up your food yourself, and still get the sense that certain “expectations” remain. Perhaps it works for the regulars, but as a first-time visitor, I didn’t feel particularly inclined to return.

Our family has been coming to Soup Plus for over two years now, and it has truly become one of our favourite spots. From the moment you walk in, you feel the warmth and friendliness of the owners – they always greet us with genuine smiles and make us feel right at home. There’s something comforting about the homestead vibe here, like you’re visiting family.
You honestly can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. Every soup we’ve tried has been delicious and full of flavour, and their sandwiches are just as amazing. What makes it even more special is knowing that the owner starts his day at 4am just to bake fresh bread for everyone. You can really taste the difference, and it shows how much pride and care they put into everything they serve.
If you’re looking for a place that offers great food and makes you feel like part of the family, I highly recommend Soup Plus. It’s a little gem that we’re so glad to have found.
