We had an amazing experience at California Sushi in Coquitlam! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful—they gave us suggestions and recommendations, and we went all-in! Our favorites were definitely the sushi rolls—they were fresh and flavorful—and we were pleasantly surprised by the seafood cream pasta. Everything hit the spot!

Me and 13 of my family members went two days ago to this sushi California, 12 of us got food poisoning and they are stalking to give us an answer. We are never coming here again and we suggest that you don’t unless you like food poisoning.

My wife, son, and I came here during lunch on a weekday. It was not busy at all... only 2 or 3 tables yet the service was extremely poor! Waitresses were too busy working behind the counters on the delivery orders. Had to walk up to the counter to let them know we were ready to order. Never checked up on us after we ordered, I had to flag them down again to get a refill of tea. Food wise, it was pretty good except for my avocado sushi which I had to pick some bruised pieces out. Don't think we'll be coming back here again!

The plate was unsanitary and the staff did nothing about it and only told me it’s “oil”. You can see in the picture the difference between the oil in the plate and the dirty plate.

This was my first time visiting Sushi California, but definitely not the last! The ingredients were super fresh, and the sashimi slices were cut thick, giving them a great texture. I also tried a few of their specialty rolls and they were very impressive. I’ll definitely be coming back again.

I went here with my family, and we are all sitting at home right now fighting for our lives in bathroom. It was so good, my scale broke the very next day. 100% recommend this place if your looking too have some family time in the bathroom.
I preordered takeout timed for later pickup. The rice was hard like overnight old rice. Fish wasn't fresh either. Was for a special occasion and was ruined by bad quality dinner.

I ordered udon soup. They brought stir fry and told them what I ordered is not stir fry, it was supposed to be soup. The server just said ‘no, it’s not soup’ and then left. Never came back to the table. I didn’t eat, just waited for my partner to finish eating his order. Apparently there was supposed to be beef in it and veggies….picture for reference for the 2-3 tiny pieces of what looks like beef left over, 2 slices of carrot and cabbage, and a hint of broccoli… $15.50. They also charged the full price for it. Disgusting attitude from the staff. Will never go to any of their locations ever again and will also spread the news.

We’ve been here a dozen times and each time the food has been delicious & well prepared. The sushi is fresh, phenomenal, and priced very reasonable. It’s our neighborhood favourite for casual sushi nights. I highly recommend, 5 stars ⭐️👌🏼

First time at this place for lunch. The restaurant was clean and it was almost full which is nice to see. I ordered my food and was very pleased. Usually I know the place has good sushi if their miso soup is good and yet again I was right. I ordered the sushi and sashimi combo and rainbow roll which it had octopus and red tuna on it.. I was surprised to see that. As you can see on the photo the tuna and the salmon pieces were good size and it tasted fresh. For my first time being at this place I was very happy and the staff were very polite and accommodating. The food is always so fresh and so good... Love this place ❤️
