Extremely Disappointed and Got Sick After Eating Here
I’ve eaten at Coquitlam Grill a few times in the past and it was always okay, but my most recent visit was awful. I got sick almost immediately after eating there... so badly that I barely made it home, and I live only about 10 minutes away.
I don’t know what happened with the food this time, but something was clearly off. This experience has completely ruined my trust in the restaurant. I won’t be going back, and I definitely can’t recommend it to anyone.

I went to the Coquitlam Grill as a last-minute dinner idea since I was already in that area and was glad that I went there. When I arrived, I received a table right away, with the choice of a booth seating or one at the bar. I also saw seating that had small television monitors right up close for you to watch.
I took a moment to look at their menu and carefully thought about what I wanted. Even though they serve breakfast all day, I ordered the Oceanic Platter. It came with calamari, a piece of breaded cod, coconut shrimps, side of rice, a cup of coleslaw and a trio of dipping sauces that are tartar, tzatziki and chili. The calamari were crispy and well-seasoned to my liking on its own. The cod and shrimp were excellent and had no complaints about them whatsoever. The sauces were exuberant, and I found myself using them with every different seafood that was on my platter. The rice was also great, and I liked the fact that it had green onions on it.
The restaurant has this antiquated aesthetic to it with the mild lighting and the bar-like interior design to it, yet a little sophisticated. The staff were very courteous and mindful of my needs. The service was very fast as well when they brought my food out right away.
I hope to come back to the Coquitlam Grill very soon. I highly recommend anyone to pay their patronage to this restaurant, whether you in this city or are coming by there.

Had the Mexican pulled pork eggs benny. Really good! Got a table easily around 915am, service was quick. Food came after maybe 10-ish minutes. About $25 with tip/tax total. Food I've had here each time is always good 👍

Our server Neva was excellent, such a sweetheart and made our experience great. Food was good, her recommendations were great and nice atmosphere.
Very poor service from our server, Sharon. She was rude, never checked on us, and didn’t offer coffee refills at any point. The experience made our visit unpleasant. Surprisingly to learn she was the supervisor/manager which make it worse as she should be leading by example.
