Disappointing experience despite good reviews.
I decided to try this restaurant based on the positive reviews, but my experience was far from great. When we arrived, we had to wait several minutes before being seated. The server mentioned she’d “find us a spot,” but the couple behind us were seated and served before we even got our food. Because they are local
It took about 15 minutes just to get a black coffee, and over an hour for our food to arrive. The manager did apologize, but by then we were out of time and had to take our meals to go. The food itself was just okay nothing special, especially considering the long wait and poor service.
I did still leave a tip, but overall, the experience was disappointing. I’m not a local, and I’m used to higher dining standards, so this just didn’t measure up. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t back.

Just had a wonderful breakfast at Atlas. The pickled onions were delicious and the homemade hot sauce was delightful.

We enjoyed excellent salads, one salmon, one tuna, both very tasty with lots of interesting ingredients. We didn’t try anything else.
Highly recommended for the salads.

First time visitors to Atlas Cafe. We were impressed by the variety of the menu, and our server was informative and helpful. Also, modifications were easily accommodated. The food was excellent - fresh, tasty, and decent portions. We also enjoyed a couple of desserts between the 4 of us- highly recommend the carrot cake. A satisfying and memorable meal, looking forward to returning on our next visit to Courtenay.

Amazing cocktails, truly superb! Food was great, recommend the angela burger. Our server Micheal ran out after us when I forgot my sunglasses, so nice!
Bit nostalgic for me - I used to come here regularly when I came up to courtenay for work about a dozen years ago (2012-2013). Still very good - you get a nice meal for a reasonable price and the service is fast and friendly. My favourite dinner spot in Courtenay - especially if you’re just passing through.
