George's is the best. You either get it or you don't. Local flavour to the max. Don't ever change guys.

I don't know who is posted that George's is closed... but I'm sitting in my car right now... Dec 16th, 2024 12 noon... waiting for my yummy 😋 order.

Again, someone posted that George's is permanently closed. But today, May 19,2025, I am enjoying their delicious bacon cheeseburger.

Georges is a family favorite and we never miss an opportunity to stop when we are in town. We love their old fashioned way of making burgers. Simple but delicious and they make me nostalgic. They also make some classic Chinese dishes which some of my family rate highly. But I think it's the burgers that keep the locals coming back over the years. Family owned and multigenerational.

Fast service, good prices and great burgers and fries. Food was fresh, hot, and tasty! We'll be back for sure!

Drove through and saw several cars pull up to this place. I quickly turned around to see what this hole in the wall place was. Turned out pretty good. We ordered 2 mushroom burgers ($4.80 each "tax in") and onion rings ($3.80 tax in). As other reviewers have said it's literally a window you order from and then wait for your food. We ate just on the curb in the parking lot which we didn't mind. We saw a lot of ppl drive in so they get pretty regular business. One thing is that the food is very fresh and made to order...this is the hottest burger I've eaten...it was so hot it was hard to hold. Flavors were good but portions are on the small side. Onion rings were very oily and I wouldn't order them again. I think their burgers are worth it tho and I'd go back to try another burger.

A friend 'introduced' us to George's restaurant. There is nothing fancy about this place. From what I recall, it is a cash only place. We were also told that they are not always open, so you may want to check prior to going over. This is a drive, park, go to the window and order kind of place. The owner/person who took our orders, never wrote anything down, but still got our orders correct and from what I saw everyone else's too. When we got our burgers, we did the Canadian thing and ate in our car. The burgers did their job as we were hungry, but didn't do much else. We've had better burgers!! Locals seem to love the place though. I think they did other types of food too. Note: Not a sit down restaurant.

OK - The burgers are hot and they make me happy. George's is an institution in the Valley and locals know the score. You drive by, crane your neck to see if they're open. If you are, you turn your car on a dime and pull in. You poke your head in the window and call out your order. And even though they don't LOOK at you, they SEE you and start to cook your order. Burgers are fresh and hot and so are the handmade fries. When your'e food is ready, they will look at you and hold up your bag. Time to pay then get in your car and devour. Gah! What I wouldn't do for one right now! Oh - and did I mention - the cheapest price you'll pay anywhere for a burger. Forget McDonalds or A&W...at $6 or more - forget pub burgers for $15 or more - $5.80 for a deluxe combo burger at Georges. $4.80 for a mushroom burger! Can't be beat.

A cheeseburger with a hotdog on it loaded up with cheese and fried onions on a cheap bun. Who could ask for anything more? When George was alive, you could simply sidle up to the window ... holler out your order ... and walk away. No waiting for an acknowledgement, cause you wouldn't get one! He knew who you were, though .. and as soon as it was ready he'd get your eye and wave your burger at you. Loved it!

Enjoyed the deluxe cheeseburger, they are alittle small for my taste but you can always get two!The onion rings were way too oily! The person working the window was nice and very quick with bringing the food.

If Comox had it's own "soul food" it'd be George's, just like momma used to make. Just remember to bring cash to pay, they were cash only when I was here.
