Ichiban Sushi Restaurant

Ichiban is a cute restaurant that is set up well and the staff is very friendly however their sushi needs improvement.

I have ordered twice, once via take out and most recently dine-in. I only order basic maki and uramaki rolls and both times my rolls have had a significant fishy taste/smell to them which indicates to me there is an issue with the ingredients or the preparation.

Wonderful service! Very attentive and warm! Mango roll was great and so was the yam avo roll. Minor note that the spicy chicken was delicious but not spicy, more of a sweet chili type flavour, still delicious though!

Worst sushi I’ve ever had. The rice tastes weird and is super mushy … it was so soft it made me gag. I should have taken my money and thrown it in the garbage. Sushi Jo and Sehmi are 💯 better

Great place, the food is always delicious and fresh. I like the patio and they are open Monday.

Best in town

Last night a group of us had the pleasure of eating here last night and man were we impressed!
Even though they were super busy inside (we were out on the patio) the service was awesome!
Our server was super attentive and efficient!
The portions were huge and the prices were very affordable and most importantly the food was great!
We will definitely be returning!

Lovely sushi and a very cute little restaurant! I am obsessed with their spicy yam and avocado roll!

Ordered over the phone for pickup and when I came home, I found out they got part of the order wrong.

There were no other customers in the restaurant. I ordered 3 salmon nigiri and they gave me 24 pieces of salmon rolls instead. There was also no receipt for me to verify.

Other than that, food sizes are decent. Vancouver average but one of the better portion sizes in the Comox valley.

Food quality is great, tasty. I found it to be a little overpriced for the amount of food you get. However, that seems to be happening everywhere. Absolutely nothing against this establishment

The inside is very lovely, however the service wasn’t so great. My partner and I visited for the first time, the sushi were bland, no flavours at all. We received our food and our water glasses were empty and we never received any check ins, or water refills. Had to find our server to get the bill.
