This place is a classic pub with amazing food and friendly service. I am honored to be able to visit a live piece of History.

What a pleasure to have this jewel re-opened!
Vegetarian options: I didn’t take any vegetables
Dietary restrictions: N/A
Parking: You guys can let guests know that there are available parking spaces so they are not guessing.
If you don’t have, then you can also let them know.
I am giving you guys a 5/5, not because of where you are presently, but where you could be in another two years. It depends on what you are looking for anyways.
Kid-friendliness: Not really
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes

Your business isn't in a deserted parking lot anymore, it's unreasonable and a terrible look for your business to play live music very loud and late into the night. 11pm hard cutoff if you want to play the entitlement game, 9pm at the latest if you want any shred of good will from the massive amount of new residents since your live events closed. This place has always been the worst bar and I hope this building can be bulldozed soon, it's a scab on Courtenay.

Shut your doors and respect your neighbors
See they have re opened with no regard or respect for the new tenants at the apartments the city Bulawayo or their liquor license requirements of not disturbing the neighbour hood they conduct business in
What used to be a quiet area has now become a party zone with loud music blaring from speakers installed outside. They should have stayed close the place is disgustingly dirty poorly run and has broken laws in the past. Shame on the city and liquor board for allowing them to conduct business have filed complaints about the excessive noise with both hope they shut them down.

It's closed, as a result of the covid pandemic, and this was one of its victims.
Set to reopen soon.

Courtenay Classic! The mex has been up and running since before I was 10 years! So that's fifteen years and counting ! So over 15 years of great food, live entertainment/music, community atmosphere and amazing service
Parking: TONS of parking... It's behind superstore so the parking is available 24/7 and front entrance (side doors) is close to all parking
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, absolutely

The Mex Pub used to be 1 of my hangouts and I had a lot of good times there. I miss the Mex Pub.
I was always look at Mex Pub from the Superstore parking lot. It seems a bit mysterious and dangerous, like a woman in a smokey room with dim lights wearing fishnets. I have to admit, I've never been inside, but it is on the top of my list of things to do in Courtenay. Last time I was in the Superstore parking lot I was walking a dog, Tucky, around to sniff at different bushes and look at parked cars. Strangely the thing he was MOST interested in, was this stack of fencing laid on its side; the stuff that you usually surround an area under construction. The metal was super bright in the sun, with no shade around, no dividers with plants, but it must have smelled good, because it was all Tucky wanted to look at.
Sometimes there's amazing music but there's not always how shall I say the most high-end clientele. Is that rude?
Friendly staff, but why even have a jukebox if you have to turn it down when the "regulars" start complaining that they don't like that type of music
