I stopped by here randomly by seeing a sign on the side of the road and not being able to pass up gluten free goodies. OH MY GOD. I can only describe the ferrero rocher cinnamon bun as life changing, it was so amazing. I went back after getting coffee in comox and picked up 2 more boxes. I live in Victoria but my sibling lives in Courtney and I know exactly what I will be requesting every time they come to visit.

I am so impressed with this little cute place! It's a challenge finding good gluten free bread/dessert. But then, when you fing good GF, vegan, keto food - that's a jackpot! I don't usually write reviews, but Roots Rising deserves 10 stars and I am spreading the world about it! I am so happy we stopped by on our way to camp, and I will stop by at every chance I have. First time visiting and we were really impressed with the amount of variety Everything that we purchased was very tasty. The little cabin is cute, clean, and well-organized. We did not mind the self-serve method which was easy enough to do. We thought that perhaps a menu outside would help with the time spent waiting. Other than that, we are happy and will definitely be back!
One other note; not wheelchair accessible.

A great little stop on the highway that made my gf wife thrilled! She shared a rhubarb tart with me and they were amazing! Shop is unmanned & works on the honour system! Will definitely be stopping on our way home as well!

First time visiting recently. I really appreciative the self-serve style. While it took me a little time to first read the instructions and make sure I was doing it all okay, Clean, organized, great layout. I really enjoyed the ease of shopping this way. I was able to not feel pressured to pick quickly, and was able to get a nice stack of things to bring to our campsite. There is a great selection of items, lots of flavours and fun to look at everything. Love the ferrero rocher cinn buns. Great topping on them! Didn’t see a peanut butter cinn bun or reese style one but we would love that flavour :) The peach cheesecake bar was good too, nice size and well-put together.The apple fritter pecan primal loaf was too dense for my eaters camping without a toaster, but think it would be fab for french toast (yum…). I regret not buying more things and wish I tried the shortbread slices and a scone. I am curious if you carry nutritional info (calories/serving) for items if needed? Thank you, we will make the 2hr trip up again soon to get some more treats :)

Absolutely charming little self-serve bakehouse that serves delicious vegan / plant-based baked goods (they’re also often gluten-free or keto/paleo). How often do you get vegan hand pies? Especially in such tempting flavours. Cheesecake bars! Amazing.

I went around 10am and was able to get in pretty quickly, I would've spent more time in there but I knew there was another person waiting. I got the lavender cinnamon buns and Mediterranean pizza scrolls. Both were absolutely DELICIOUS!! I will definitely be back, thank you for providing so many vegan options. :)
