I have a special place in my heart for old gems like this. It's as close to Cheers as you can get in Courtenay. The food is pretty damn solid, no matter what you order, the specials and prices are great prices, the waitresses are no-nonsense get your beer on the table right away, and the selection of beer is decent for not being a "Taphouse." Always a good place to go for pub food. I had the cod fish and chips this time and ordered the two piece thinking that they would be average size and I was hungry! Very surprised at the two huge pieces of fish. I tried my best but only managed one and a half pieces, though I did finish the chips! Price was also good at $17 for the plate.
