The food was absolutely amazing! It was my first time here and I had the lamb sandwich, which I’ll definitely be ordering again. The only downside was the service—our server came across as quite cold and never checked in to see how we were enjoying our meal or if we needed anything else. The food alone makes me want to come back, but I hope the service improves to match the quality of the kitchen.

Well it's worth coming here just for the unbelievably unique and creative interior. The service was very friendly and quick. We found the food to be delicious and the bread was very fresh. We had a Reuben sandwich and a lamb sandwich and they were very fresh tasting and delicious but I would have given them a five-star (overall and for the food) if there was more flavor. They were both a bit bland including the coleslaw

This restaurant probably has the best chili and corn bread I’ve ever had! Paired with their cold root beer it was amazing.
My sister took me here while I was visiting her in Comox, and I will definitely come back if I was ever in the island again.

You walk in, and for a moment, you are lulled into the warmth of reclaimed wood, homespun charm, and the faint smell of bread rising somewhere in the back. You imagine a place where time slows, where soups are ladled with reverence, and where grilled cheeses arrive golden, crisp, triumphant.

And then—reality sits down beside you.

The butternut cream soup. My God. A silken river of autumn itself. The kind of soup that doesn’t merely warm you—it makes you believe you’ve been personally forgiven by the universe. Velvety. Subtle. Heavenly. You could close your eyes, cradle the bowl, and be transported to some celestial farmhouse where angels churn cream by hand.

But then—the grilled cheese. A betrayal cloaked in promise. What should have been a buttery crunch was instead limp, sodden, as though it had been left too long in the rain. Cheese that deserved to sing instead muttered in defeat between wet bread.

And the service… or rather, the lack thereof. Our waitress, a mysterious apparition, vanished the moment we arrived and only reappeared when the stars aligned. You could have sent a carrier pigeon for water and it might have returned quicker. Each request, a test of faith. Each glance toward the kitchen, a small prayer unanswered.

The Yellow Deli is a paradox: a soup divine enough to make you weep, tethered to service so lackluster it makes you question your own existence. You will come for the butternut cream soup. You will stay for the hope of being noticed.

We head about this place from our Friends who live in the area. This place was a must to visit for us. The sandwiches are Unbelievably good, so as the Soup of the day. All 3 us had a different dish and we were all blown away from the quality. A Lady was out server, but others touched the table as well to serve us.
They were very knowledgeable and kind. The interior of the restaurant is made of hand made furniture and design. We were offered to sit on the patio but we opted for the table inside to be surrounded by the beautiful furniture and design. We wanted to buy some bread to go, but they only sell bread on Tuesdays and Fridays. We returned on Friday for their Spelt flour Sourdough.
The prices are moderate for what you get.
They don't serve alcohol, but they serve homemade juices and smoothies. They have an Excellent Tea selection as well. The Iced Chai Tea was very refreshing with a hint of cinnamon.
I would recommend to visit this play when visiting the area.

Had the veggie burger with chips, very good! Not a processed veggie burger it’s made in-house, great flavor, and a big portion (I couldn’t finish it). Chips were crispy and tasty. Cool atmosphere with a cozy, cottagey feel. Definitely would comeback.
