Curious why this place has 4 stars when it is genuinely one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. I am not a picky eater either and I smoke a lot of grass so things generally taste good even when lower quality. The meat here is VERY underseasoned compared to any other donair/gyro place I've been to (and the socially awkward owner WILL give you an unwanted / over the top lecture on the difference between the two). It's interior is very outdated, and the place is never EVER busy and now I know why. The onions were very clearly cut many days prior and stored in a metal container, as they just tasted like bitter steel. The only redeeming qualities were the tatziki sauce and the baklava (which I showed interest in multiple times but the owner kept trying to sell me the cheesecake instead which I was clearly uninterested in). Just an overall awkward experience from the owner and the food isn't good, coming from someone who has lived in much larger cities with many MANY more shawarma places.UPDATE: Upon the owners response, my opinion hasn't changed, nor would anyone who had the experience I had "say it to her face" as she has said in her initial response (just another example of the awkwardness, rather than taking the criticism with stride its just like any kitchen nightmares episode "my food is great everyone here loves it come say that to my face"). I recommend people who want genuinely good food and a good experience stay away from here. And if the onions aren't stored in metal then that's even more concerning why they tasted that way.

Have been going here for years, Whenever we go to the island. Went again recently after having not been in 4+ years. The Donair is still the best I have had. You can not get this authenticity except to maybe go to Nova Scotia. ?We felt completely at home, as our food was being made we were engaged with great conversations. More people arrived and it was as if a little family. everyone chatting and laughing it was a great atmosphere.Thank you for a great lunch and look forward to going again, with our next stop on the island.

The best Greek food in the comox valley, hands down. The food is spectacular - the tzatziki and hummus are amazing, and you get generous portions with lots of fresh veggies.Atmosphere is cozy with a wood stove for ambience and colourful, original decor. The owner and staff are personable and attentive, and the business is very community minded. They even have bulk take home options so you can construct a meal at home or when camping, and seniors meals for lighter appetites.Parking: Parking is plentiful and right outside the entranceWheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible

So good, I think I've tried every gyro/donair spot on the island and nowhere is as good as here! Really fresh veggies and quality beef and lamb. A big thick fluffy pita wrap - and none of those thin strips of microwaved beef I'm used to! I haven't had a gyros this good since I lived in vancouver. I'll be sure to stop by again so the family can give it a try too. Thanks for such a satisfying lunch, it makes me happy I live in Courtenay!

Great place! Great food! Great atmosphere! Amazing owners with a long history there. Locally owned and such big supporters of the community. I dont know how restaurants in the area survive with this place. Such good food, priced right and they have a drive thru. Why would anyone go get a greasy burger when you have this option.Kid-friendliness: Fun friendly owners in a clean environmentWheelchair accessibility: easily assessable ramp

So so place. There are better options in the valley. Owner is pretty grumpy most of the time, huge staff turnover says it all.

The owner is lovely but works at here own pace. I used to think that her gyros and donairs were excellent but the last time I was in iwas very disappointed. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed my meal but it used to be amazing and now very pedestrian. The protein seemed to be of lesser quality and sauces had less punch.

I have to agree with some of the pervious reviews for a couple reasons prices are high for what u get 20$ for a single double meat gyro is a bit ridiculous considering once finished was still left feeling hungry its also pretty messy a bit soggy on the wrap and felt it's a bit small in portion mixed feeling about weather or not to return for a 3rd time.

As I entered the establishment and in no less than 20 seconds the owner hit me over the head with a metal bat and set me on
