Stopped in this morning to give their breakfast wrap another try.
Last time I had one it was not great due to overcooked eggs in microwave.
This morning I very politely asked if it would be possible to cook the eggs slightly less than usual, as I had found them to be quite overcooked the last time I had their wrap.
I was told that everything had to be cooked by microwave (which I acknowledged when I started the conversation) and that they had fixed cook times to follow.
I asked if it would be possible to dial the cook time on mine back slightly so they weren’t so overcooked.
She did that for me, but also suggested I go to the pub instead when it’s open.
I did not appreciate that comment. I know the pub is there, but I’m trying to give Third Wave another shot instead. Why tell me to take my business elsewhere?
Attitudes were frosty. Food mediocre at best. $15 plus tip for the wrap I was rudely handed this morning is not something I’ll be going back for.
I’m on the ferry almost every other day. I was giving your breakfast wrap another try in hopes of becoming a regular customer when in need of a quick breakfast take-out.

Delicious flat white and a freshly made sausage roll. Beautiful start to a Sunday. Plus a funky little shop and a separate seating area inside and a patio with ocean view out front.

I'm just saying, their coffee is great- and their sausage rolls. I come there whenever I need to just get out and go for a walk, since I usually like to have something while I walk on the board walk. It's got nice and friendly people who work there, and the general vibe of the place is just 🤌

My Husband and I moved to Crofton so that I could help take care of my Mother who is dying by inches each day. We are staying at the resort, and one of the places we liked to come was the Third Wave. Cute little shop, good atmosphere. However, when we spend at least $20.00 per visit to compensate for using their wifi for one to two hours due to camping, and we get told that we have to move or vacate two hours before their closing time because she needs to sweep... or the other employee at 1:36pm comes in and pushes chairs loudly while sweeping trying to send a message I guess... I got annoyed. I don't think we will be coming back. I've worked in customer service for 30 years, and I've never tried to make a customer feel uncomfortable. I've been nice and polite to a fault with these people, and we've been treated as SUB-PAR. We have spent $300.00 at Third Wave since we have arrived in Crofton.
Edit: Dear Owner,
In response to your question, this first happened over a week ago. It was either a Wednesday/Thursday I think ( don't quote me-I'm not 100% certain sorry) This was not an isolated incident. The second time was either last Sunday or Monday. There was no mention of needing to close early. The latest incident was Monday September 30th, when the one employee came into the back room and spent approximately 4-5 minutes scraping tables back and forth while he did a minimal amount of sweeping. My guess is that they were annoyed that we were taking too long while enjoying our beverages and catching up. We ALWAYS spend at least $15.00 to $20.00 to compensate for this. A business is a business and I get that. We are quiet, friendly and respectful. We did not deserve this. I thank you for your timely response.

The coffee was great. The breakfast sandwich was amazing. The people were super friendly. And they have the world’s best Nanaimo bar, it’s just wonderful here!

Nice little place for a coffee and a nibble while waiting for the ferry.. However I don't go there anymore if I forgot my coffee cup. I like that they give you a discount if you bring your own cup, but to also charge a 50 cent premium to use a paper cup is enough to change my behaviour to either skip the coffee or buy somewhere else.

I swear they have the BEST sausage rolls on the Island!
Quirky little cafe near the ferry. A perfect stop while waiting for the ferry. Great friendly staff. The Nanaimo bar tasted good.

Very fine coffee… rich smoothie flavour with chocolate tones… gonna get me some beans when I return. Service is fabulous and they have stones n gems plus other gift items.
Wheelchair accessibility: The doorway has a ramp, but there is still a little bump that might require a helping hand going inside with a manual chair. And you can put in your order from the outside pickup window.
