Baba Sweets & Shivalik Restaurant

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had. The girl with glasses at the front desk was extremely disrespectful. I ordered food, but we weren’t even offered water. Meanwhile, the table next to us received friendly greetings and prompt service. They were served their food before us, even though we had ordered first.

I had ordered one plate of chole bhature and one gobi paratha. After waiting 15 minutes, only the chole bhature arrived, and the paratha never came. Frustrated, I decided to leave without finishing my meal. To make matters worse, the girl with glasses charged me for both the chole bhature and the paratha.

The service was absolutely pathetic. I’m never coming back.

I ordered samosa chaat from them and i am really disappointed. The samosa chaat arrived without chutneys and onions. It was take out and when I called the staff they said you can come back now we can put chutneys on like what is this. I hope the restaurant maintains the taste because their taste is getting disgusting day by day.

I think you don’t need costumer, employee at the counter seemed uninterested and even a bit annoyed.

Horrible service. Horrible person on the cash counter. Avoid the girl/lady with glasses on the cash counter at all cost if you choose to go here. She was extremely disrespectful. Don't even bother going here. There are plenty of better options to choose from.

We live in the okanagan but come out to
Vancouver a couple times a year and we will now add this to the list of stops we make every trip down to Van.
I’m not Indian but still received amazing service and suggestions aswell as education. Their cashews are soo good, easy to bring home and store, the aloo paratha is so fresh and perfect for a road snack. Prices are good and store is clean.
We will be back 100%, thank you Baba Sweets ??

My family has been enjoying this restaurant for many years. We noticed a $15.00 service charge on my bill today. I asked my server and she said they apply this charge for 8 people or more in a group. We had no disclosure, no signs on the door and nothing printed on the menu. I paid my bill and spoke to the owner. She replied with a basic comment that "all restaurants in the area apply this charge" and they forgot to mention it to our group. I do not feel appreciated or valued at this establishment. This experience has left me disappointed and frustrated, please be aware of this.

Went for lunch with my family today. We were a group of 8, 3 being kids. When we went to pay, the bill looked higher than it should be and we found that a 20% service charge had been added without our knowledge! We've been coming to this location for years with the same number of people and have never heard of this. Our server did not inform us of this charge beforehand and even as we were paying, this was not disclosed.This is dishonest and dishonourable. We will not be returning.Be aware if you visit this establishment!
