BC Live Spot Prawns & Fresh Seafood

Ordered from this company and received poor customer service and did not receive the total weight that was ordered (short one pound of fish).

Wanted to support local - paid $20/lb for frozen even though my grocery store is currently selling fresh for $13/lb since we are in peak salmon season.

Excellent prawns

I understand this is a small business and I want to support them. However, the experiences has been terrible far.

The first time I order some sockeye salmon online. They got the order, I appear at the schedule time. When I arrived, the man just told me they are all out. I got the refund, but if you don't have the product, why make me drive all the there.

More recent one is spot prawns. I order spot prawn for 5 pm pickup after work. They email me the day of saying they can't make 5 pm. So I move all my appointments to go pickup the prawns at 1 pm (and I confirmed with them 1 pm is good). Then I got another email saying they ran out of prawns.

Instead of agreement upon price and pickup time, the shop owner treat you like a pokemon, and can be summon at will. I am truly disppointed with this business.

I called around 8:30 pm in search for spot prawns, as they were sold out everywhere or already closed. The guy who answered the phone said he was willing to wait for me to arrive 9pm to sell me some spot prawns, even though he had to get up very early the next morning. The spot prawns were delicious. :)

Got fresh live spot prawns from Ladner Wharf, right off the boat—super high quality! Made sashimi and boiled some; both were crazy delicious. Total seasonal treat!

Pre-ordered spot prawns pickup for the first time this year. Communication through email was clear. Early pick up times (before 9AM) helped avoid stockout. Spot prawns were large and fresh, no fishiness at all.

I have ordered 5 pounds and scheduled to pick up at noon. I arrived before noon and found that they were all sold out. They told me to come back at 4pm. We wait until 4pm and come back and they said they will delay by some unexpected cirumstance and said come back at 6pm. This is unaceeptable. Actually we supposed to enjoy the prawn with my relatives coming from other country and they are going to leave tonight. They are so disappointed. The seller are very unreliable and said they didn't know anything. She even blame us don't understand the fisherman and we are the worst customer they ever met. Finally, she give me the money back but I will never buy from them.

SCAM! we ordered 4 pounds of prawn from them. We arrived today at 12 to pick the prawn up. They told us to come back at 3. and when we came back at 3, they told us to come back at 6. the prawn was my family's dinner, how am i supposed to wait for that long. We tried to solve the problem with them, the workers had a poor attitude, and they refused to give us refund.

I've been buying 20–30 lbs of spot prawns from this place every year for years—one of the true perks of living in BC. Today, I picked up my online order of 10 lbs, and as always, they were big, fresh, and incredibly sweet. The quality and pricing are consistently excellent. If you're into spot prawns or thinking of trying them for the first time, you really can’t go wrong here.

I placed an online order for nearly $300 worth of seafood. Payment was processed, but the order never arrived — and I never got a refund. I followed up multiple times and was ignored. Months turned into years with zero accountability. When I finally did get a response, I was basically blamed for their mistake.

This was not just bad service — it was a complete disappearance after payment. No resolution. No refund. Just silence and denial.

If this is how they treat paying customers, I strongly suggest you look elsewhere.

We had a fantastic experience at this seafood shop! They offer a great selection of fresh seafood, and the customer service is exceptional. Darren was a pleasure to deal with, and he's incredibly knowledgeable about the products he brings in. My parents absolutely love the fresh halibut, and I can see why! Highly recommend this place. It's definitely worth every dollar for the quality of seafood you get.

We get almost all of our fish from here. Great quality fresh locally caught wild fish that supports the fisherman directly. So happy to have them in our neighborhood!!

This is our favourite place to order salmon lox! They come fresh and not too salty (a problem I find with store bought lox).

Darin reached out to me and went out of his way to take care of my order. He was very generous about the shipping and the product was nothing short of spectacular in both quantity and quality. Being from the prairies where quality seafood is hard to find, I am happy I stumbled on this gem of a business. I highly recommend using this establishment!
