I am not expecting a beach cafe to be a fancy restaurant so i am not comparing with restaurants. The cafe has surprisingly more variety of food than i thought. Fish & chips is actually good! The only downside is probably the garbage bin needs to be cleaned up more often. It’s full of flies and bugs when we opened the bin.

The chicken wrap left a lot to be desired, such as flavour and a lot less onion. I can't recommend it.

Overpriced and underwhelming food. Incredibly slow service - it took 25 minutes to make 1 order of fish and chips with onion rings.

Little slow cause of one person cooking and one taking order . But yummy at the beach . Ice cream stand as well. Not too pricey considering where it is .

I had cramps for hours after eating their greasy one piece halibut and a few fries. I do not recommend eating there!

Would give negative stars if I could. Worst, most disrespectful customer service I have ever seen. Ordered a $25 two piece halibut and chips (same price as sit down fish and chips restaurant) and proceeded to gag and be sick on the beach as it tasted like I had swallowed old fish oil. When I brought this to their attention I was given attitude, openly mocked by their staff and patronized. No offer to make it right, credit the food (which was thrown out), or even an apology.
Even as I wrote this I can’t believe the horrid service there. AVOID this place at all costs, so many other local places that offer take out on the way to the beach, that don’t treat (over)paying customers like pieces of trash.

Centennial beach is one of the best places in the lower mainland to spend a sunny day. Just off the beach path at the main entrance is the Centennial Beach Cafe serving the beach goers. The cafe offers breakfast, lunch, coffee, and snacks. Breakfast is served until 11:30 and then the lunch items are served until close. The lunch menu includes salads, noodles, burgers, fish and chips, fish tacos, and more. There are also options for kids on the menu.We rode our bikes along the beach dyke all morning and ended up back at the cafe for lunch. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich, pad Thai noodles, poutine, and kids chicken wrap. Everything was well prepared, fresh, and tasty. The pad Thai was piping hot, and the portion was generous. The pulled pork sandwich was saucy and tangy. Lots of flavour and better than your average sandwich. The kids wrap had a crispy chicken tender, lettuce, and a lightly toasted shell.Poutine was very cheesy with tasty gravy. Really good.Although the prices are not the cheapest, a burger with fries would be over $10, the food was good and we didn't feel ripped off at all.Overall, the cafe is in a great location and is a great option for a treat while at the beach, or for a meal if you don't want to pack a picnic lunch.

Unfortunately the fish & chips (halibut) quality has gone completely downhill. I've been including this Cafe as a required stop for years after a beach walk but yesterday was the worst thus far. The 2pc halibut & chips was $21 and both pieces combined was the size of my palm (not including fingers) and was either undercooked as it just smushed (if that's a word) between fingers. It was not solid and firm as halibut is. It was the most expensive $21 French fries I've ever had. I am sad and disappointed in the current food quality!! Hopefully they can return to a better supplier!
