The name has changed to Sushi Gurume, some of the staff is the same but the prices have skyrocketed. I realize the cost of goods and services is higher than ever. I just feel each time I order the cost seems to get higher.

Decent suburban Japanese style restaurant. Large menu. Chiriashi bowl was decent , sunomono was disappointing..watery and miso ok. Service was attentive and price ok. The others who had Bento boxes were impressed by serving size and less critical. For me 3.5 for them 4.

The quality of the sashimi and sushi here is top notch. Just as good as any downtown place, and better than most in the lower mainlaind. The chef really cares about the product. Always very fresh and we'll cut, and clean tasting. The rolls are really great tasting. The rice is excellent. The freshness and quality here is superb. Support this business.

A nice find after going to Centennial Beach with my grandson. The Chicken Teriyaki Lunch Bento Box is beautifully displaced and each item is freshly made. Social distancing policy is strictly followed. Good service despite only one server.

Tried the sashimi bento. The presentation of the bento is nice. The tempura had a perfect crisp coating. The sashimi and sushi were fresh and clean tasting. The miso soup was average and the salad just tasted like normal Asian style vinaigrette salad. The rice could have been moister and plumper but overall, this place serves a tasty quality bento box dinner. If note.. The restaurant is nice inside with booth seating but smells a bit like old woodiness.

Lobster Roll, Tsawwassen Roll, Sashimi Platter, and they do allergy modifications! This place is really high quality.I received an EXCEPTIONAL Chef's Sashimi platter here on a Long Weekend! Why is that significant? It means he orders fresh stuff and throws out bad stuff even wehn business is slow!Really friendly staff.New manager/sushi chef is doing a great job.Sashimi has now 2 times in a row been excellent.Staff were very thorough and caring.Food and drinks are very are well priced for such excellent quality. You can't go wrong!

Tried this for the first time last weekend and it was ok overall, chicken karaage has always a big part of our family's sushi dinners but was truly disappointed with the "karaage" that Eko-ya makes... First it's just chicken wings , not chicken thighs .. I've noted on the bone description on the menu and assumed it was chicken thigh with bone which is how it's usually made. It was badly fried chicken wings with a tasteless batter similar to my high school cafeteria food. I gave the experience 3 stars because the rolls were decent but I hope that the resto considers making a true version of the fried chicken to accompany the sushi. It'll be my first and last time ordering here.

The restaurant is clean but I had a most unsettling experience as I ordered my Japanese food dinner. I was greeted by a young woman who rudely didn't reply to my Hello and are you open when I walked in and asked for a menu. I found a take out menu myself on the counter and asked if they were serving. There was no one else in the restaurant at all at this time. She was at the cash register and the restaurant was open. She then immediately said' "Waht do you want?" I said; "I will have a look" Here's how it went: "So" she said: "What do you want? I asked: "Could please explain to me what sunomono salad is again its been a while I've forgotten". Her response " If you can't even pronounce it and don't know what it is then you shoudn't order it. You better have the green salad". "Ok then I'll have the Green Salad" "So what else do you want" "I'm note sure, any suggestions?" 'No" I would have left at this point but I really wanted some Japanese food so I ordered the Teriyaki Box' "Should I have the Beef or Ginger Beef - which is better?". "it doesn't matter, whatever" Then thought I would have a sushi roll. "You have so many sushi rolls to pick from!" "Well pick one!" "Ok - the tuna roll" I was given the total, I paid No thank you, no indication of timing, no other words. I asked: "How long" 15 minutes. I went to pick it up is was ready in 15 minutes With service like that go down the street or to another town for your Japanese Food fix..

I enjoyed the friendly greeting when I first entered the restaurant. It was quite and I email getting the window seat. The restaurant has great ambience. The lunch specials are a great deal. The soup was not very tasty because it was very watery. The rolls tasted great and were a great size. The chop sticks a Lee not very good quality. I love the tea. Ordered an additional salmon cone. There was not a lot of rice or salmon in the roll. Not the best food presentation. The manager was yelling at the staff. I may come by again. Undecided!

We had dinner here with a large group of family members and we were seated in a private booth. It was comfortable and the service was very good. Our server was very helpful in explaining different items on the menu and helping us find what we were looking for. The chief came out to check on us and make sure everything was good. They went out of their way to make sure we had a good evening. And the Sushi was very good.

Recommend by a neighbouring shop owner. We had 3 lunch boxes and a volcano roll, and extra Gyoza. Every thing was up to par. We did not stray into too anything interesting. The boxes were all familiar and fresh. The sashimi was good. The volcano roll was a California roll with tuna and avocado and some spicy Japanese mayo. It was all good...perhaps a bit generic as others have suggested but not deserving of one star to be sure. A pleasant quick lunch
