Ordered takeout from here. Food was not good. Seemed like it had been sitting around for a while and then warmed up. Pretty much ate a little bit from each item we ordered (kids refused to eat it at all) - we then threw everything away. Pretty much $65 we threw into the garbage. We were excited to try it for the first time but we will not be ordering from here again.
Decent for indo Chinese food. I would actually like to give them a 3.5. food was good but service was dry
Awful awful awful...Pork was bad in wonton soupRice was overcookedSweet n sour pork all batterShanghai fried noodles were mixed with dry white noodle and hardly any pork, which was fine , cuz pork obviously bad. Food was all cold. Wonton was like soaked in some kinda water & low soup base
i have been eating at this place for 26 yrs with only two problems yrs ago but since the new owners took over omg the service n food r not good at all as the last time i orderd my food i got home to find out that i asked for bbq pork fried rice with no pees and found that it was just plain testless rice and the sweet n sour pork was burnt and when i called to complain the lady that answerd dident even care at all she dident even offer credit on my 40 dollers worth of food and they messed up my order a few times that went into the trash as i live to far to drive back i will never go back again
Used to be great but recently has gone completely down hill and will never order here again. You can order through skip the dishes but they manage their own delivery. Things used to be WAY better when they did their delivery directly with Skip the Dishes. Food would arrive piping hot and in record time and I absolutely loved ordering from them and would order from them quite often. Then they moved to still stay with Skip but manage their own delivery and that is when things started to go bad. I have placed a few orders since they started to manage their own delivery and food took much longer (up to an hour, sometimes longer, when it would previously arrive in about 18-25 minutes via Skip the Dishes food courier) but was still delivered by a friendly and courteous person. But recently everything went horribly wrong. I recently placed an order through Skip the Dishes and since they manage their own delivery, it took nearly 2 hours to arrive but that was not the worst of it. The worst was their delivery driver. He did not follow the delivery instructions. He went to the wrong door (my landlord's door) and banged on the door so hard that not only did he terrify the occupants inside that home but there was also a glass window on the front door that he damaged. If that was not bad enough, my landlord told me that he threw my order of food on the ground, displayed a horrible attitude and walked away. My landlord was completely outraged as his very young daughter got so scared about this person aggressively banging on their door that she dove under her bed and hid as she thought a bad person was trying to break into the house. My landlord's elderly father is also resting in covid quarantine in a separate part of the house which was closest to the door that was banged on and damaged and he was quite upset and frightened as well. I contacted Skip the Dishes to lodge a formal complaint and they could only apologize and offer to pass on the feedback and encouraged me to contact the restaurant directly as they said there was very little that they could actually do as this restaurant manages their own delivery service. I contacted the restaurant to advise and spoke with the manager and all she offered was to give me a couple free combo dinners. She refused to do anything about the property damage. I told her I am not interested in free food from them. I demanded that the driver be terminated immediately as he is a liability to their business and she told me they go through a lot of delivery drivers. The food received was also the worst I have ever received from them. It was so bland and tasteless that for the first time ever, soy sauce had to be used on rice and noodles so that it was even remotely palatable. The sweet and sour chicken balls and almond chicken were actually a bit under-cooked as it had a "doughy" texture surrounding the chicken when I have had those items on several occasions and normally much more crispy and thoroughly cooked. There is normally lots of sauce and on the sweet and sour sauce on the chicken as well as the pork.I realize COVID has restaurants struggling to survive but you are not helping your business by accepting mediocrity in both your food quality as well as delivery service. In challenging times like this, you need to step up to the plate and go that extra mile or you might as well just cut your losses and close up. In the meantime, they have definitely lost a loyal customer and will continue to lose more revenue until they either change for the better or close their doors.
Since under new owners, the quality and food is just not there. Before New Ruby was amazing and had great variety of things to choose from. It's a shame
For a hole in the wall this place is OK. It's actually a lot better than I thought but I ordered the dry garlic porc and I am very disappointed. All it is is deep fried pork only this with flecks of garlic on it and tossed in garlic powder before deep frying. Can't even take garlic at all Definitely won't order that item again. Other than that the food is OK
Service was good Corelle dishes? Food was not good. Prawns had not been deveined. Spring rolls were cool and greasy. Boneless spareribs with chili salt were in a pale batter. They used to be terrific. Will not go back.
It’s been a year since my last poor review of this restaurant, and nothing has changed....just picked up 2 dish orders, one just ok, one terrible. Sorry, but until I see a new management sign, or new cook, I won’t be back!! Simple blk bean n beef on rice noodles....beef tough, not flat big rice noodles, but very thin noodles, and no black bean sauce!! Tasteless, awful!!
I get their combination dinner for one.New Ruby Restaurant has the best sweet & sour chicken balls I've ever had, they taste like almond chicken in sweet and sour sauce complete with big battered hunks of chicken.WOW!

we ordered through Skip the Dishes yesterday to our work and the driver was VERY RUDE. he was angry, yelling and complaining that he got lost for half an hour and didn't make any money on the order. The food wasn't too bad but of course was not very warm and the sweet and sour pork was more like honey garlic ... kind of pork.. very odd. The overall experience was horrible with the delivery and it mentions on Skip the Dishes that they arrange their own deliveries so not sure what that means. Can I also say that we provided a very 'detailed" description and directions as to how to get to our location JUST IN CASE.
Pretty standard stuff. Restaurant was clean and hostess was friendly. Food was ok but could be better
The Szechwan Fried Rice and the Sweet and Sour Pork is especially delicious. Everything was really good and portions are great. We will have several more meals out of our dinner. The pricing of the food is good too. We ordered online and it took no time to get to us! We will be eating here again!!
I am sorry to say this restaurant has really gone downhill. Greasy and soggy food. Manager took two dollars off the bill after we left the food uneaten. First time I have been in a Chinese restaurant that didn’t at least offer tea. A waste of time and money.
The food here is usually good. worth its price anyway, fast and efficient service. didn't wait very long on our food. good size portions. nice quiet, casual restaurant. cleanliness could be better though.. like the washroom could use more attention.
