Breakfast is very disappointing, food was terrible. I ordered waffles and got Eggos instead. Even the coffee was not fresh. I’m very disappointed.

I tried this buffet tonight for the first time, since there are some negative reviews, I just wanted to write a fair review so people can decide better and help the management with improvements if they wish. First everything non-fiood related was quite good, plenty of parking, casino without smoking smell, clean building, staff were attentive and hardworking, no complaints about the service for an average buffet which we don't have a lot of them in the lower mainland. Food in particular, there were some items in the menu that I liked, mashed potatoes and shepherd's pie was 8/10, dessert was 9/10, roast beef was 5/10 (tasteless, hard, cheap inside round meat), chicken stir fry was 6/10, beef stroganoff was 1/10! It tastes like bread strips soaked in sauce than actual beef. That being said, there was salad, soup, main dishes, drinks and dessert for only $30/person! Twice the price of a dobair at Donair Dude, this deserve a 4 star overall rating, of course there can be a much better buffet for double the price, but this place is definitely not a waste of money.

Came here for lunch today — the curry beef was delicious and the green beans were excellent as well. I come here often, almost every Friday, and I’ve noticed that the lunch menu has improved a lot recently. It makes me really happy to see the change, and I can tell the chef puts a lot of care into the food.

The main roast beef was dry and tasteless. And the other meats, the roast pork look the same way. The shepherd's pie tasted funky. The beef stroganoff had no dicernable noodles in it. The only good spot was the staff who kept the place clean.

ZERO STARS | Absolutely Appalling – An Embarrassment to Vancouver’s Food Scene and this casino

As a seasoned Google reviewer with countless dining experiences across Vancouver and beyond, I can confidently say I have never experienced anything as disgraceful as the Cascades Casino buffet. The food here is not just bad—it is shockingly inedible, bordering on offensive. If this is what they consider “cuisine,” then the chef not only deserves to be fired but should be permanently barred from working in any food establishment—except maybe a prison kitchen, and even that feels generous.

The quality of food is below one star. Tasteless, dry, overcooked, or just plain suspicious—it’s hard to tell what they were trying to serve. I wouldn’t feed this to a stray dog, let alone paying customers. The taste? Worse than prison food. That is not hyperbole—it’s fact.

Service? Mediocre at best. No greeting, no smiles, no thank you, no goodbye. It felt like a chore for staff just to acknowledge guests. Basic hospitality standards were completely missing.

Cleanliness was also an issue. Dirty counters, sticky floors, and plates that looked like they hadn’t been washed properly in weeks. For a casino buffet, this is unacceptable.

Frankly, they should be paying guests to eat here. It’s that bad. Do yourself a favour—don’t even consider this place. It is a complete embarrassment to Vancouver.

Stay far away. You’ve been warned.

This was hands down one of the worst buffet experiences I’ve ever had. The food was not only unappetizing but contaminated. Items from different trays were mixed together, making it clear that there was no proper food handling or hygiene being followed. To make it worse, the watermelon had clearly been bitten and placed back — completely unacceptable and revolting.

The salad was wilted, slimy, and turning orange at the bottom, clearly rotten and unfit to be served. It was stomach-turning. Nothing felt safe to eat. I walked out completely disgusted and will never return. Avoid this place at all costs.

Dinner for four of us was $45. Had a 2 for 1 coupon, one kid ate for free the other was $13. So for $10 a head it was fine. Mediocre to average at best food on the buffet. The hot food was hot at least so that is a positive. 2.5 stars. A pass, but not by much.

I am not a professional chief but I can make better food. It’s pretty bad. I went twice and both times are bad. I’d be hesitant to go even if it’s free. The food photos taken by other people look not too bad. Maybe I was just unlucky those two times I went.

I cannot believe they even call this a buffet restaurant. Went there for dinner last night. And it was the worst buffet we have ever been to. A total waste of money. There was not even any food for us to eat. Whatever was there was cold, rice hard, tasted Terrible. There were some cut up watermelon and a few slices of cakes for all of the people there to eat. It was a terrible choice and it is not even a cheap place as each dinner costed $29.99. it is truly unbelievable how horrible it was. I truly wish that this place will either change this or shut down. People do not do this to customers that think they are going to a buffet restaurant. Extremely disappointed.
