Had a fantastic dinner at Yellow Chilli last night! The food was delicious, and the staff was super welcoming, we arrived near closing time. What really stood out was our server, maybe a new trainee. I'm so bad with names and I already forgot her name, but she was exceptionally attentive and engaging. She actually introduced herself, which you don't usually see, and she asked about our day, checking on us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. She told us about the signature sham swera and it was actually the best. Her warm attitude really made the experience special, and it's hard to believe she's new! Despite one slightly rude manager, the overall service was fantastic. Definitely recommend!

I would say one of the worst restaurants I have been to. We were 7 ppl who went with high expectations since it’s Sanjeev kapoor’s restaurant but it was nothing like it. The service was very slow we got our food after more than an hour of ordering. When we asked about the delay they said some kitchen emergency hence the delay they should have informed about it without us asking first. The Mango curry Prawns we ordered were stinking and had gone bad. They replaced it with the butter chicken which we took home but after my friend had it she got food poisoning. The worst part is for all this they charged us gratuity of 18% which was not even worth it. I would never ever recommend this place. I have never made such a negative review until now!! Also their Nalli Rogan Josh was so bad that the meat was not even coming out of the bone. It took two people to take it out!

Most recent - Visited after a long time today. Food was decent, could have been a bit more spicy as per request. Our server Aiman was great. Looking forward to come back again for the temple menu ! Updated my review reflecting today's experience.

3 years ago - Ordered Chole Bhatura, Amritsar Kulcha and Shahi Tukda. Very disappointed. This was our first time trying the restaurant. This is definitely not what Chef Sanjeev would approve of. One star for Shahi Tukda. Rest was just tasteless.

One of the better Indian restaurants that we’ve come across in Greater Vancouver. While we’ve been ordering from here, this was our first time dining in. We had made a reservation anticipating crowd on a Sunday, but surprisingly the place was not crowded at all.

Recommended: Lalla Mussa Dal, Tandoori Chicken Lollipops, Garlic Naan, some Tandoori Murgh that’s stuffed with lamb mince

Not Recommended: Shaam Savera

Our server, Simran, was very polite and gave good recommendations! She was sweet enough to bring us an icecream as we were celebrating our anniversary! That simply won us over. ♥️

Thank you to the chef, and Simran, for a wonderful dinner experience. We shall be back :)

The restaurant offers a visually stunning experience with a decent interior and attractively plated food, but the taste falls short. The dish lacked freshness, and the wafer was hard to chew. While great for presentation, the overall dining experience felt underwhelming in flavor and texture.

The food tasted a little off. They couldn’t do any dairy free main dishes.

The samosa was cold in the centre and definitely not fresh nor tasty … considering the hefty prices here, it was disappointing. Not sure how many days old it was. It tasted reheated. We asked for a new batch and that was just as bad.

Very disappointing.

Edit: I thank the person who replied. We asked for dairy free/ vegan options and asked about all options you mentioned as they are naturally dairy free. They were available, but we were told they couldn’t be dairy free. They offered a potato sabzi, a vegetable Palau which was rice with jeera, nothing else and these upsetting samosas. It was by far the worst meal we’ve had in our lives. We paid anyway.

Please train your staff as obviously this has come as a surprise to you. They aren’t aware at all of your options nor do they know how to make/ refresh samosa. They may need training about food safety as some of the food tasted off. We hope that your standards improve and future vegan and dairy intolerant people can eat a decent meal. We won’t be returning however, as there wasn’t even one redeeming quality about this particular experience :(

I’ve taken off a star for service, now that we know that they did have options but it wasn’t available. Either the server was not trained or the person responding is not telling the truth.

Dietary restrictions: Did not really cater. Staff undertrained and did not know how to make very slight adjustments.

I recently dined at this restaurant and had a disappointing experience. The food was cold when it arrived, which completely ruined the meal. I politely mentioned this to the Manager, hoping for some resolution or at least an apology, but instead, he ignored our complaint and didn’t offer any assistance or even an explanation. It’s incredibly frustrating when you’re treated this way, especially when you’re simply asking for a basic level of service. I won’t be returning, and I certainly won’t be recommending this place to others.

We ordered breakfast special but to our disappointment they insisted on ordering same 2 paranthas in a parantha plate. I did not get why we cant mix and match this time as the rates are same. Last time we were here they got us two different paranthas in one plate. Also the tea is discontinued, which reflects the cost cutting by the management.
Disappointing experience with a brand like this.
