I have had better sushi. The Aburi Salmon was disappointing. The salmon was paper thin and the jalapeño was pickled. For $17.95. It’s not worth it. Portion is small and expensive and taste is ok.

Highly recommend! First time at Todai and they're my new favorite spot when visiting Vancouver. Ordered 4 sushi party platters (sashimi platter and rolls) and there was more than enough food for 12 Americans ? The fish was fresh and the price was great! Edamame, egg rolls, and fish apps were all delicious. The staff were friendly (I called them 3 times to change my pickup times), the space is small but oh so cute. Online order form is so easy to use as well.
Vegetarian options: Had the yam rolls and edamame

Tofu teriyaki was quite tasty. Salmon teriyaki tasted good but portion was quite small. The crab miso soup was also a very small portion. Was charged extra for brown rice and it was about a 1/4 cup. They first tried to charge us extra for the miso soup which came with the teriyaki (was told by waitress). The waitress didn’t know the menu that well (how all the ramen is made with pork) We also ordered a roll and never got it… the person next to us ordered carpaccio and received sashimi, she was very confused, but like us had appointments and couldn’t stay for longer. Atmosphere is a 1 because we felt we were very close to the people around us.

I luv the food, value for the money! Indeed the quality of the food has been improved a lot and matches my taste. The staff were helpful and friendly. I definitely will comeback and recommend this place. Keep up the good work!

They mess up orders even after clarifying several times a donburi and teriyaki entree are 2 separate things (I’m surprised their own employees don’t know considering it’s their own menu). They still mess up the order, make customers wait double the time, don’t offer an apology for the inconvenience (instead they give attitude when I ask again to make sure it’s the right dish). And they still mess up. Go elsewhere. After being a repeat customer, having a single ‘I’m sorry’ or accountability can go along way.
Compared with a year ago, the food quality improved so much. I ordered a sushi lunch box, the box presentation was nice, California roll is good, 4 nigiri were perfect, tempura is crunchy, surprisingly the 2 deep fried gyoza was very good!

Good food with quite an extensive menu for a small restaurant. Noisy though, because it's small.

It is only in this restaurant where the waitresses wear odd and awful rib-knit crop tops while serving clients. We termed it decorum/etiquette; perhaps the administration would enforce a suitable dress code. I had the impression that I was at a bar or pub rather than a restaurant.

This is probably the most underrated sushi restaurant in Vancouver. Tastes as good as or better than Miku or Minami in my opinion. My favorites are the spicy wild salmon roll and crazy girl roll. Soo good ?
