From the moment we stepped through the door we knew it was going to be an amazing dining experience. We were immediately greeted by the warm smile of our server, a young gentleman named Alex. Alex was incredibly attentive and provided excellent recommendations from the menu and drinks list. It was such a pleasant evening and Alex served us so well that it almost felt like we were catching up with an old friend.
5 stars all around. We will definitely be returning!

I visited this restaurant last week, and it was my fourth time dining there. The food is always delicious you can taste fresh ingredients (herbs and species) the atmosphere is nice and relaxing and the costumer service is amazing friendly, helpful and welcoming.

We visited Fernie Himalayan Bistro for my sister’s birthday night. We had been to this restaurant twice before and always loved it — the food portions were generous, the taste was fantastic, and the service was great. Unfortunately, this visit was completely different.
The food portions were much smaller than before, and the taste wasn’t the same at all. The service was also very poor — the staff didn’t bring trays or serving spoons, and they carried dishes in their hands instead. When we were placing our order, the server seemed to be in a hurry and didn’t really listen to what we were saying.
We were really disappointed, especially since we drove an hour all the way from Cranbrook just to enjoy the food here. Sadly, this visit didn’t meet our expectations at all, and I hope the management looks into improving both food quality and service.

As a local who eats here regularly, the Spice Bistro is the best place for Indian food in Fernie. The saag paneer is fantastic. As Bob Barker always says “the spice is right”.

Some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had. Every dish is so tasty, flavours are insane and the garlic naan is so good.

Recommended dishes: Garlic Naan, Himalayan Tandoori Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Vindaloo
I had beef vindaloo, my partner had butter chicken. I had masala chai to drink. Beef vindaloo was pretty good. I got it hot in terms of spicy as well as my partner for his butter chicken. His wasn't spicy enough and mine was decently spicy. The butter chicken lacked spices I felt. Basmati rice was nice. Chai was spiced nicely. Cheese Naan was good but inconsistent. One piece had a half inch thick layer of cheese inside and then almost none in the remaining 3 pieces. Garlic Naan was good.

The food was so tasty. The owner came out and greeted us and spent time talking with us. Very eclectic location and cool murals on the walls.
