Several excellent restaurants in Fernie serve really creative food. But only Himalayan Spice had the perfect combination of amazingly creative food, good prices, large servings, and mostly family staff. Our dinner there was easily one of the best of our lives. Bobbie, the owner, was gracious, and he has lived where his recipes originate. Our waitress, also a family member, was terrific. We went to this restaurant, concerned that it might be the usual over-spiced curry recipes. Instead, we experienced incredible tastes that were new to us. The old brick building and beautiful art added to the experience.

My two friends and I had supper at Himalayan Spice Bistro this evening and it was absolutely delicious. We ordered our standard dishes: chicken biryani, butter chicken and aloo gobi — all medium spice and it was perfect. The garlic naan was so crispy, buttery and fresh that we ended up ordering a second order mid-way through our meal. The service was fantastic as well. The food came out quite quickly and was the right amount of food (three dishes for three people). Our server was so pleasant, very attentive without being intrusive. During our meal, there was a steady stream of take out orders as well. My friends and I love Indian food. We would highly recommend this restaurant! Thank you Himalayan Spice Bistro for a lovely meal in Fernie!
