Just spent a week on holiday in Fernie, on the first day we lovisited Smitty's. So impressed, we made this our daily visit for lunch. The menu was extremely varied, food and service excellent, and very good value. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.
Ok. The food was good. Pancakes better than they were 40 years ago.
The egg and bacon breakfast for my companion was huge.
They lost a star because they did not have real maple syrup. Corn syrup substitute means the accountants are running the business and cost is everything.
The second lost star was the cup size for coffee and tea. My 4 year old grandaughter has a bigger cup.

August 22, 2025. We made this a lunch stop as part of a bigger event. Many riders from Alberta and Saskatchewan HOG groups piled in here around noon. The unexpected crowd didn’t seem to bother staff at all and they jumped right in to get orders taken. Good food and service. Thank you Smitty’s for making this a great lunch stop
