The food is amazing, with friendly staff. The atmosphere is welcoming and makes for a wonderful experience! The food is expensive but what sushi isn't. For the experience it is well worth the price!

Incredibly slow, tiny portions for how expensive it is. takes 25 minutes to make the smallest 8 piece portion of salmon sashimi I have ever seen in my life. The tuna was the same, half hour for for a tiny bite of food that costs damn near 25$ a plate. would not reccomend. only came here because the other shop in town was closed. waste of money and time.

Ordered Beef bento box. I was disappointed by followings 1. Miso soup was too salty. I had to ask a glass of hot water but still salty after adding double of hot water. 2. beef, tempura and rice were not freshly cooked. They are even not warm. 3. Shishi rice was not cooked properly. Most of grains were hard and chewy. I was here a few times in the past. It was not like this. But I won’t come back here if these are their standards now. Also many flies are buzzing in the restaurant🪰 I told the server the 3rd problem then they didn’t charge one of the plate. That was good.

Sushi wood is our favorite restaurant in Fernie! We always get the bento boxes for takeout and they are really great, then last night we ate in and had the yakisoba and ramen and it was amazing. Authentic flavours, good size portions and just delicious. Definitely give sushi wood a try if you are in Fernie!

Sushiwood in Fernie is fantastic! The tonkotsu ramen was rich and flavorful with tender chashu pork and a perfectly cooked egg. The sushi was fresh and well-prepared, especially the tuna, salmon, and crab. The hand rolls were crisp and generously filled. Drinks were also excellent — the Asahi paired perfectly with the sushi, and the Canadian Caesar really stood out. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Highly recommend Sushiwood if you’re in Fernie!
Visiting from Calgary and stopped by to try it given the great reviews. It’s true - sushi is very fresh - had the Tango Mango roll. Also shrimp tempura. Delicious 😋

I came from sparwood and had to wait over an hour in the parking lot. They called me and told me they would call when it was ready and never did. So I went in and it was just sitting there. And the food was cold
