Came here with my husband and 3 young kids for my bday. Service and food was amazing! We got ramen bowls, shared a sushi roll and my kids got tempura shrimps and veggies. Zero complaints. Will definitely come again:)

A great spot for sushi and Korean food. The ambiance is welcoming, the sushi is fresh and beautifully crafted, and the service is friendly. They also serve a number of Korean dishes like kimchi jjigae. The tamago night was fresh and the seared salmon nigiri was delicious. Don't miss their signature rolls either! Highly recommended for a memorable dining experience in Fernie.

Love coming to this restaurant whenever we pass through. The chicken yakisoba is amazing! Spicy tuna rolls are my favorite, and the beef rolls are my girlfriends favorite.

So happy to have found such a stellar local sushi place! Food was phenomenal and the staff was extremely friendly. Calm atmosphere with nice decor perfect for any occasion. I’ll definitely be back, often.

I am a local, so I enjoy take-out from Sushi Wood whenever the urge hits me! The servers are always cheerful and polite. My favorite order is "Popcorn" or "Purple Dragon" which are special rolls. Fresh vegetable roll or Cowboy roll are good choices for those who don't enjoy raw fish, but still want the experience! My son in law loves the Philadelphia roll which is so yummy and has cream cheese inside. One more tip! If you are a "dipper" ask the waiter for a little bit of extra sweet mayo-it will be your new favorite condiment!

I have eaten at Sushi Wood a few times before ( it has been about 6 months since we were here last) and have always enjoyed the food and the service. We went there yesterday. Upon entering the restaurant, we noticed that there were many empty tables with only 4 that were occupied. We were seated at a table and given menus. No servers approached our table after that, to ask if we wanted drinks or if we were ready to order. Servers walked past us, with water for another table and to put empty plates on other empty tables. After 15 minutes, we left. Very disappointing and will not go there again. :(

Servers at this restaurant are very friendly and attentive and the space is neat and moderately decorated. Food is okay, definitely edible, but some dishes are overpriced. I ordered "soondubu" jjigae, a couple of different rolls and their crispy jalapeno with tuna. If you are someone that has eaten soondubu at different restaurants, please know in advance that you will not be receiving what you would normally expect. The dish is okay, but should be called "haemul jjigae" due to the lack of silken tofu pieces and a freshly cracked egg (instead, there is a sort of egg drop soup thing going on). I did ask the server about the missing tofu to which he referred to the chef who informed him that the tofu is mixed in while cooking the soup so it becomes fine. In any case, it is missing the element of what makes it soondubu jjigae. The rolls were mid, lacking any significant flavours. The jalapenos were not spicy, accompanying fried tuna had little flavour, but at least it came on a nice bed of greens. The "homemade" kimchi was salty (better left for cooking) and not crisp. All in all, not worth what I paid, even taking into account that this is located in a tourist/resort town. Thank you to the server who ensured that my dining experience, at the very least, was a pleasant one. It was a relaxed atmosphere and I did not feel rushed.Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie rolls and a few vegetarian apps/dishes

Was a little loud under the speaker when we were first seated, but they were able to turn it down for us to a perfect volume where it could be heard, and we could still have a pleasant conversation. Service was impeccable, very polite staff, they don't appeared rushed, but ensure everything is timely, it was lovely.Food wise, which you're all here to read about: plating was stunning, taste was amazing, and I'd highly recommend it. Our group ordered miso soup, various sashimi, some tuna tataki, and for a twist on our normal sushi orders we got the crazy girl roll. Couldn't recommend the place any more than this, it's a great place to eat and be.
