It's the only place to stay in Fruitvale, the price is reasonable but it's kinda run down. It's fine in a pinch or if u r low income but otherwise I wouldn't really recommend it.
We were caught unaware of some event which sold out the Castlegar/Nelson area so had to look further afield for a reasonably priced room. The grounds of the Villagers Inn will not instill a sense of confidence or comfort, and the lobby is not much of an improvement. Our check-in was handled quickly by a very pleasant lady who provided us additional information about the hotel. Our room was not plush but most importantly, it was clean and secure. Those bad reviews were scammers. They booked the room online and then asked for cash refund (you can see one of those posts saying that). These are good clean rooms to stay for the night.
