We stopped at this restaurant yesterday for take out. Normally we purchase from Golden City in Sechelt, but they were closed so we figured we would try this restaurant instead. We ordered three vegetarian dishes and three meat dishes. The portion sizes were good, the food was fresh, and we were pleased with the flavor. We still prefer Golden City for portion size and price, but this was a very good substitute. I definitely recommend Bayview Szechuan if you are in Gibsons.

Legit Szechuan on the Sunshine Coast. Portions are huge and authentic. Hot and sour soup was so good. Eggplant bean curd hot pot was so good. Shrimp fried rice noodle was delicious also. Accommodating for allergies as well. Friendly owner. So full.Vegetarian options: Vegan friendly. Owner has very cool glasses Dietary restrictions: Gluten friendly options

We found ourselves in Gibsons one Sunday lunchtime and our first three choices were closed, and I love Szechuan, so... We had the set lunches - lemon chicken with rice, and Szechuan chicken with noodles. You won't go hungry, the portion sizes are huge, but you certainly won't come back. The lemon chicken was almost devoid of taste, apart from the fried peanuts, and the Szechuan chicken was even more bland - you'd expect chili fire, mouth-numbing peppers etc, but it was just... meh. It didn't help that both means (apart from the rice) were incredibly greasy, wih (what I suspect is) a cup of lard poured over them. Several other people were eating the dayglo sweet and sour pork and seemed to like it, so perhaps we were both unlucky. It's a good place to fuel up if you are freezing, but it's not Szechuan cuisine.

Absolutely terrible. We took the leftovers home and it was worse the next day. Don't waste your money here. Not good.
