Croissants were delicious, and I'm fussy about my pastry! We've been to most of the coffee shops in Gibsons (we live here) and this is at the top of our list.”

“I’m so glad I stopped in here today! I ordered the falafel bowl and avocado smoothie and both were delicious! The bowl was loaded with fresh and flavourful ingredients (I was just in Vancouver and ordered a bowl from a bigger chain and it was almost all rice and no veggies). The staff person was so friendly and I could see that they were chopping up fresh ingredients right then for my bowl! Good prices too, compared to the bigger chains. Highly recommend!!”

“We arrived just before opening on a rainy, fall Saturday. The line up was down the road alongside the patio. The gate opened and the restaurant filled up. Sadly, we didn't make it in on the first seating. But it was worth the wait. Tables flipped well after the first wave. Good service and a fine selection of brunch. “I was really excited to try this place. My husband and I ordered lattes, but unfortunately the coffee was very strange and didn’t really taste like coffee at all. I’m not sure if something was off with the espresso that day, but we ended up throwing them out, which was really disappointing because the café itself is super cute.

However, we did get sandwiches and some baked goods, and those were delicious. I’d definitely come back to try the food again!”

“You absolutely shouldn’t miss Stephen’s signature treat — the Raspberry Lemon White Chocolate Scone. Unlike typical scones, this one has a beautifully crisp exterior while remaining soft and moist inside. The first bite greets you with a delicate crunch, followed by bursts of juicy raspberry. As you bite deeper, the fresh brightness of lemon unfolds, balanced with a subtle sweetness from white chocolate. The texture is lightly moist without being heavy, and the contrast between crisp and tender makes it an instant surprise from the very first bite — truly unforgettable and well worth trying.

In addition to the signature scone, Stephen’s Thai chicken soup is equally worth ordering. It preserves the aromatic essence of Thai cuisine, with hints of lemongrass and spices, yet is thoughtfully balanced so it’s not overly spicy or harsh on the throat. The flavors of tanginess, fragrance, and gentle heat come together in perfect harmony. It’s layered but comforting, showcasing a well-executed fusion that feels both authentic and approachable.

“We had a delicious dinner at Sima Japanese restaurant in Gibsons, BC. We ordered Bento Box B, which came with fresh tuna roll, crispy veggies and prawn tempura, and delicious miso soup. Everything was well prepared and flavourful. Paired with hot Japanese tea, it was a perfect meal. We’ll definitely go back.”

My daughter took me there for my birthday dinner tonight, and I’m honestly kicking myself for not going sooner. Everything from the absolutely flawless food to the out-of-this-world service, was exceptional. I’m talking “tell everyone you know” kind of exceptional. We ordered the seafood platter, a few tapas, drinks, and dessert ... and it was all chef’s kiss. Generous portions, incredible flavour, and super reasonable prices. But what truly set the night apart was the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. Every single person we interacted with was genuinely warm, thoughtful, professional and attentive. “Thank you to the Team at Blackfish Pub, my husband and I had a great lunch there yesterday, Our server was charming and helpful in making our choices and when we mentioned we had a ferry to catch and short on time, her response ...no worries I can put a rush on it. We did indeed arrive at the ferry terminal in good time , unfortunately however without my iPhone. I called Blackfish Pub and again a charming individual answered my call, yes they had my phone and instantly, once I mentioned but we were inside the gates , he knew there was no way for us to turn around and pick up the phone. Perhaps not the first time this had happened, but he had the solution immediately, he would call a cab to the Pub , give the driver my phone who would meet me where walk on passengers are dropped off and that is absolutely what happened ! Service beyond expectations on all counts , yet having been up the Sunshine Coast for years , not surprised , there is something so very special about those who call the Sunshine Coast home.”

“This is a great location. The staff are really nice. The food came quick and hot. I got a chicken bacon wrap and a chipotle chicken wrap. The diet rootbeer was also great and they gave me a nice chilled glass . I would for sure come back to this location again. I am only in Gibsons for a few days but I will make sure to come back here again!”
