“I came here with a friend based on the recommendation of mutual Vancouver friends. What an absolute delightful service, location and vibe. Set in a lovely garden space, with tables and chairs, and plenty of grass to lay a picnic rug down on, The Brass Spoon offered a short, but delicious variety of menu items. The mango lassi was delicious - not overly sweet, but tasting of yummy mango and very refreshing. The Indian samosa and spinach fatayer were delivered piping hot and crisp from the oven; and the chicken wrap was equally as delicious. The chicken if cooked on the spot, rather than precooked, so it took perhaps an extra 15min for it to be ready. Well worth the wait. The staff were lovely, welcoming and keen to have their little business grow into something larger. Highly recommend The Brass Spoon if you’re visiting the Sunshine Coast, a local or looking for something more personable than the eateries on the Main Street in Gibsons.”

“The food and drink were delicious, but the self-serve book store with obscure and important titles took this from a 4 to a 5 star destination. They even have gf cider (as if you needed further inspiration). If you do nothing else this summer - visit Persephone Brewing.”

“Great little place. Cozy, with very friendly service and good drip coffee. And so nice to find a place with great music for a change (soft jazz...think Ella, Tony Bennett, Diana Krall, etc.). Croissants were delicious, and I'm fussy about my pastry! We've been to most of the coffee shops in Gibsons (we live here) and this is at the top of our list.”

“I had a great experience at this Vietnamese restaurant. The food was fresh and flavourful.

Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Prices felt fair for the portion sizes.

I’ll definitely be coming back and would recommend it to anyone craving authentic Vietnamese food.”

The young lady was very helpful bc i was confused wha to order
I got some fried dumplings 9/10 very good
And i let the lady decide the main dish so i forgot the name
But jesus it was good😂
It was a nice combination between vegies and beef
It was delicious 10/10

“Food was decent prices were also decent for this day and age - the smoothie actually tasted like real fruit and wasn’t too sweet. Lettuce and tomato on avocado toast is a bit odd but it was decent especially for the price. I would definitely come back to try out more things. Service was pretty whack screaming kid behind counter , only one person working when it’s really busy with a lady periodically coming out then leaving again. Took like half an hour for my food. Thankfully I wasn’t in a hurry - if I was this review wouldn’t be 4 stars”

“This place is phenomenal. First, the location is shared with a taco truck and cider with a nice dog friendly outdoor seating area. Second and most important, the food is delicious. They have Bennies. We got the lox and bacon Bennie’s which were delicious. The coffee is great. And the laminated pastries are light and flaky. We also came back for affogato which was perfect for a warm afternoon. Got frozen lasagne to go which is some of the best lasagne I’ve had in a long time. And to top off the experience the owners/staff are wonderful and amazing. Be sure to stop at Sea Monkey if you’re on the Sunshine Coast, they will not disappoint. “Excellent panini. I chat with the owner, all the bakery items were made freshly by himself every day. We ordered a roasted vegetable panini and a Brie chicken panini. All the ingredients are prepared daily, even those chicken breast are not cold cut, all cooked and seasoned from raw by the owner. The most amazing is the la marzocco coffee machine. I true feels how the owner delicate to the food quality. Meanwhile, the price is very reasonable, around $13 for a sandwiches.
Highly recommended if you are looking for good quality of food.”

“We had a delicious dinner at Sima Japanese restaurant in Gibsons, BC. We ordered Bento Box B, which came with fresh tuna roll, crispy veggies and prawn tempura, and delicious miso soup. Everything was well prepared and flavourful. Paired with hot Japanese tea, it was a perfect meal. We’ll definitely go back.”

My daughter took me there for my birthday dinner tonight, and I’m honestly kicking myself for not going sooner. Everything from the absolutely flawless food to the out-of-this-world service, was exceptional. I’m talking “tell everyone you know” kind of exceptional. We ordered the seafood platter, a few tapas, drinks, and dessert ... and it was all chef’s kiss. Generous portions, incredible flavour, and super reasonable prices. But what truly set the night apart was the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. Every single person we interacted with was genuinely warm, thoughtful, professional and attentive. Can’t wait to go back! ❤️”

“Thank you to the Team at Blackfish Pub, my husband and I had a great lunch there yesterday, Our server was charming and helpful in making our choices and when we mentioned we had a ferry to catch and short on time, her response ...no worries I can put a rush on it. We did indeed arrive at the ferry terminal in good time , unfortunately however without my iPhone. I called Blackfish Pub and again a charming individual answered my call, yes they had my phone and instantly, once I mentioned but we were inside the gates , he knew there was no way for us to turn around and pick up the phone. Perhaps not the first time this had happened, but he had the solution immediately, he would call a cab to the Pub , give the driver my phone who would meet me where walk on passengers are dropped off and that is absolutely what happened ! Service beyond expectations on all counts , yet having been up the Sunshine Coast for years , not surprised , there is something so very special about those who call the Sunshine Coast home.”

“We are a visiting family from the US and thought we’d try A&W here for the first time and we’re really glad we did. It was such a lovely experience. The Teen Burger is a staple for us, and I also really liked that the drinks came already chilled without ice, such a nice touch. The young lady at the drive-thru window, wearing a “bear with me” pin (a trainee pin at that!), was such a little ray of sunshine. She was so friendly and kept smiling the whole time even though it was a gloomy morning and there was a long line. She totally boosted our mood.

It was really refreshing how warm she was and yet everything still moved along quickly and we received our order without any delay.

I just wish there was a way to tip by card because she deserved it.”
