The Black Bean has great coffee, kind service and chillin' atmosphere. Location couldn't be better; nestled in lower Gibsons in a trendy neighborhood with fantastic views. The prices are fair and the food is good.Parking: A very tight, little street with only a few spots in front. Best to walk up if possible

Visited the 'little' Black Bean Cafe at the ferry terminal waiting for our ferry. Their breakfast sandwiches (we had the veg and the smoked salmon) are so, so good and a great way to finish off a weekend away.

The food was so good I forgot to take a photo because for a moment in time all that existed was me and that sandwhich. I would board a ferry just to come back and have the smoked salmon bagel sandwhich again. Coffee was also phenomenal.

On mornings when I'm lacking the desire to cook for myself, the Gibson's breakfast hits the spot. Some of the best baked goodies on the coast also. Don't skip the gluten-free chocolate walnut brownie. It's sooo good.

Super friendly community where you get fresh and delicious local food and drinks. This cafe is located by the water at the corner of a block under 10 minutes from the ferry terminal. It's a very cute 2-storey blue house, and the restaurant is on the ground floor. I had lunch there on a business trip. It was recommended by the locals. The interior has a rustic farmhouse vibe. The Black Bean Burger caught my eyes on the wall lunch menu right away. Even though it's a veggie burger, the black bean, avocado, red onion, tomato, lettuce and chipotle mayo were such a good combination with the great flavour and texture. The buns were very fresh. They also provided some crispy potato chips on the side. The hot chai latte I had was very tasty and smooth. It had the right balance of sweetness and aroma of chai. Very yummy. If you live in the neighbourhood, you gotta know this place. I saw the locals coming in and out either dine in or takeout. If you're visiting, you gotta visit this local cafe which you'll appreciate their service and food.
