Pulled into Big Bend as a second choice after the Best Western continental breakfast was closed — let me assure you, Big Bend will never be a second choice again. The atmosphere of this place is one of the best of any diner that has ever made my acquaintance — raunchy signs and wooden cabin decor covering every corner, a dedicated hot sauce table (if I had to guess, 20+ hot sauces), an ENTIRE POT OF COFFEE left on your table, a waitress who uses a rip-off white notepad pulled from her apron while peering over her big round glasses, mugs that are both small (to accommodate multiple rounds of coffee) while also being heavy in the hand for coziness, views of snowcapped mountains, and benches that are begging to be lounged on. This place feels like your grandparents diner from the 70s, except with modern frills like calorie-free sweetener, squeeze bottle ketchup, and a card machine that can sometimes tap.
The food was exactly what you want — a diner breakfast. Crispy hashbrowns, homemade sausage links, fried eggs, incredibly well buttered toast. I don't know what else can be said — it's breakfast, not foie gras.
If you're looking to be full, happy, and shaking from over-caffeination with the best views you could ask for, look no further than Big Bend.

Not sure how this place is rated over a 4.
Service wasn’t great and food was terrible.
Burnt potato on the outside, undercooked on the inside. Overcooked poached eggs.
Best of all, no one cared to come to our table to check how the food was. They went to every table but ours somehow.
Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. It’s a shame this exists in golden.

Don't let the rustic facade fool you. When greeted, we were told the kitchen was short staffed so service might be slow. We didn't even notice! In the and out in 45 minutes! We enjoyed the Porkys Benny and Basic breakfast. The Benny was outstanding and the lady that served us was terrific! Highly recommend!!

A nice spot for breakfast or lunch with a wide and extensive menu which caters to all. Prices are reasonable and the cafe has a lot of character with colourful decor and signage. We enjoyed our food here!
Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible through side patio. Washroom also accessible.
