This has been a regular stop travelling between the Okanagan and Calgary for some years. The food today was as good as ever (Burger and a Club Wrap) the service very friendly and courteous. A great spot.

Sat on the upstairs patio which was quite nice with string lights and overlooking the river. Little bit of traffic but it was a Friday night. Service was good, my husbands burger was great. I had chicken fettuccine and my chicken tasted boiled and the sauce not very flavourful.. I was a little disappointed. But overall a nice evening. ( probably 3.5 for my food)

Writing this as we are pulling out of the parking lot. Stef was absolutely fantastic, super chatty, bubbly and bright. The conversation alone was enough to want to go back!! We only stopped in for appies and drinks, spring rolls and the 7 dollar margaritas (Tuesday special) were an absolute win. We also got to meet the TikTok famous Sly.

We stopped in Golden as part of a road trip from Surrey to Edmonton. We Googled places to eat in Golden and Island Restaurant was towards the top of the list. Who doesn't like a log house restaurant, right? The food was tasty, and the service was awesome. Nakita, and Sly are an awesome, patio dynamic duo!

I want to start by saying that this restaurant is the worst I've ever been to in my entire life, the food is terrible, I went with my wife and my children, each one ordered something different, all 4 dishes were horrible, my hamburger came with fries, these were burnt, the hamburger did not taste like a 26 dollar hamburger. My wife's pasta was salty and very seasoned, my daughter's tasted terrible, my son's pizza had a horrible flavor, the sauce tasted like the pizza had been frozen for a long time, it did not have a fresh flavor. Everything seems to indicate that the person in charge of the kitchen is not a cook or has no experience, my wife suggested I complain about the poor quality of the food considering the price of it, but I preferred not to complain, we were passing through and I needed the time, however, we did have a long moment of regret, since for much less money we could have eaten at Tim's and we would not have been left with that bad taste. The restaurant is outrageously expensive for what you can eat there, my suggestion would be: stay away from this place.

I had such a great experience at The Island Restaurant! The location itself is beautiful — tucked on a little island with mountain and river views that make the atmosphere really special. I ordered the pizza and it was absolutely delicious — fresh ingredients, perfectly baked crust, and just the right balance of flavors. The service was warm and welcoming, and everything came out quickly even though the restaurant was busy. It felt cozy yet upscale at the same time. Definitely one of the best dining spots in Golden — I’ll be coming back for sure!
