Just had an amazing breakfast at The Island Restaurant in Golden, BC — and wow, what a way to start the day!
I had a perfectly cooked omelette, paired with sourdough rye toast and the most delicious apple jam you’ve ever tasted. Sat outside on the patio, soaking in the fresh mountain air and incredible views of the surrounding peaks.
And here’s a sweet little detail I loved — they serve coffee in tall cups, not your usual diner mug. It just made the whole experience feel that much more special.

Nice folks there but the doors were wide open and wind blowing during a rainstorm so it was kinda breezy. Got the steak special for 40+ bucks and it was an under cooked raw piece of crap. Vodka was crappy too. Wanted to watch a Stanley cup finals game there but they got only one dinky tv with a sketchy wifi feed. Pick a lane I guess, be a restaurant/pub or be a bougie restaurant with better cooked food. We didn’t complain since we were just passing through town. I’m Sorry.

Visited the Golden area and found the Island Restaurant. Food was delicious but the service was exceptional. Shout out to Sylvester! He was a delight to talk to and gave us some great information about what to see and do near Golden. The launch pad was wonderful and just as he said by keeping our eyes open for bears proved prophetic. Saw a momma bear and her two cubs. Thanks for good food, great service and awesome info!
Went here for our “1 year in golden” anniversary dinner. No wonder we haven’t been before. The lack of cars in the parking lot all the time should have been the sign but as one of the last places to try what a let down. Food was lack luster and mostly reheated if I had to guess. Cocktails were bland aswell. Will never come back to this place. The server did an ok job I guess. There was a guy sitting at the bar who wouldn’t stop chatting to the servers. I’m pretty sure he works there to, I’ve seen his face in peoples photos. Let’s the girls work man and shush. Anyhow 0/5 stars. I’m sorry but this was the worst dinner we’ve had in golden.

The Pesto Fettuccine had neither pesto nor fettuccine noodles. Basically just a vegetable spaghetti sauce with some kind of.. thick hand pulled noodles? Was quite disappointed, especially for the cost. Service was good, though.
