Most disappointing breakfast. Driving to Calgary from Vernon I thought I’d treat myself to a good brunch in Golden. Based on the google reviews I picked this place. I should have left when I realized I was the only customer. Thought it might be a late morning lull. I don’t think that now. Ordered simple; 2 cheese omelette, potatoes, toast, coffee and a side of sausage. Coffee was weak and tasteless. The toast tasted like a leftover reheated from the morning, hard and brittle like crackers. The potatoes also tasted like leftovers that were microwaved and reheated. The omelette was like something from a pre-made frozen package and reheated. I was hungry so I ate that omelette but it was something I’d expect if I was stuck in a hospital. The bison sausage, which should have at least been interesting, had absolutely no flavour. It was like eating sawdust. The young lady who served me and was happy to take my $33 for this feast, asked me if I wanted a doggy bag, which I declined, and after declining to tip, did not have the wherewithal to even ask if I enjoyed the meal. The review must have been on my face.

And of course, she’s originally from Barrie…..so many Ontarian's have made the move … seems we meet at least one a day …..hmmmm …..people are definitely happier here …..just saying ! Had breakfast here during our stay in Golden. There was delicious food and the service was fantastic. The eggs benedict was amazing, the hollandaise sauce was perfection. The bacon was thick cut and meaty. The inside of the restaurant was clean and modern, I wish we discovered this place earlier. Highly recommend.

Excellent restaurant. Relaxing and calm atmosphere and the sweetest server (who made my partner’s day by also being Québeçois!) Marianne was attentive and so, so lovely. She made our last morning in Golden feel like home. 10 stars if I could!
