We had a free day from our Banff vaca so decided to check out Golden. Stopped in for lunch and loved it. I had 3 tacos, chicken, pork, and brisket. I'm not a huge brisket fan, but it was good. I loved the pork and chicken/pineapple. My husband had the pork burrito as a bowl and it was delish also. We also ordered the churros and enjoyed those as well. Everything was fresh, hot, and had plenty of flavor. Definitely recommend.

Not proper Mexican, very whitewashed!! We didn't enjoy it but maybe you would.
No free refill on chips, which is BAD. Even downtown Banff Mexican places provide free chips refills.
Potato taco can be avoided, Chicken taco was very good, the avocado taco was okay.
We try Mexican wherever we go, bit this place overall not worth the price for us.

Golden isn’t the kind of town you romanticize. It’s a pit stop, a gas-up on the way to somewhere better. A handful of motels sweating neon vacancy signs, trucks lined up at the Tim’s drive-thru, a main drag that feels more like a service road than a destination. You come here expecting convenience, not discovery.
And yet, tucked between the wilderness outfitters and the places that smell vaguely of fryer oil and regret, there’s Repesados. No pretension, no glossy marketing campaign, no one whispering “hidden gem” on travel blogs. Just a taco joint with the nerve to actually be good.
The first bite hits you with that city energy — confident flavors, fusion that doesn’t apologize. Repesados doesn’t earn points for being charming or plucky or good-for-Golden. This place is just good. Period.
They boast tacos (and burritos) that balance heat, crunch, and richness without feeling engineered. Cocktails that taste like someone behind the bar still has fun experimenting, using a combination of familiar and quirky ingredients. Churros so good you’d swear they came from a back-alley stand in Mexico City.
The service is casual, bordering on familiar, like the staff already assume you’re a regular. And by the end of the meal, you’ll want to be one.
Repesados doesn’t just raise the bar for Golden, it truly stands on its own. The kind of place that makes you rethink what small-town dining can be, and maybe, just maybe, makes you look at Golden a little differently on your next drive through.

We had dinner a few days ago and it was DELICIOUS! Two of us got tacos and two of us got bowls. Everything each person got was so good. I got the pollo con pina, cochinita pibil, and the ginger carnitas. They were all delicious but the vegan ginger carnitas was by far the best, which surprised me because I’m not vegan. Waitress was really friendly and we enjoyed sitting outside. Highly recommend!

Stopped in town on the way to Lake Louise, and got the pork burrito. Might just be the best damn pork burrito I’ve had. Well seasoned meat, succulent and juicy. Delicious! 10 out of 10, would slurp on this burrito again. #netflix&pork

Amazing! Food was insane delicious, service was just as good and their margaritas were the best I've ever had. Only knock is lots of mosquitos outside. Highly recommended.
