Restaurant attached to a motel. Stopped by on our roadtrip. Only one lady working, she seemed irritated, did not acknowledge when we walked in. Rushed my husband when he was ordering by cutting him off with “okay”. Restaurant was empty on a Saturday, two tables sat.
Weird behavior. Food was subpar. Should not have listened to the reviews.

Great food, but seemed to have not enough staff as some tables had to wait for their order to be taken, and then get served. There were a couple of kids, who must belong to the restaurant owners, in an area close to the tables. They were making a lot of noise, which was unfortunate.

This isn't just my favorite sushi restaurant in the Kootenays, this might just be my favorite sushi restaurant I've ever been to!
I came here on what might just be the hardest day of my life so far, I had just said goodbye to my old lady kitty and came here to cheer myself and offer food in her honour. Despite going through something so difficult today I found myself eating more than I thought I could, I just had to try everything!
The only thing I could complain about was I couldn't tell from the outside if they were open or not, the open sign in the window wasn't turned on and they have some strong blinds on some of the windows. Inside it made for a calming atmosphere, however
Pro tip, the servings on the nigiris we ordered were huge, so I might order some of those next time instead of just the sashimi

Hardly get a chance to enjoy their amazing sushi because they don’t answer the phone often.

I've been coming here for years, and I honestly can’t recommend it enough. The food is consistently incredible, always fresh, and packed with flavour.
Tonight, I went in on a crazy busy Friday, I didn’t mind waiting an extra ten minutes for my order because all good things take time. When my food was ready, they ran it out to me with a free gyoza as a gesture for the wait, which was such a thoughtful touch. It made my night and it was so delicious.
The owners and staff are lovely people who are always so kind. Highly recommend eating here!!

On our way back from Roseland to Vancouver, we stumbled upon Sushi Ocean Dream in Grand Forks, and it turned out to be an absolute gem! This charming spot exceeded all our expectations, offering fresh, delicious sushi and a welcoming atmosphere that made it the perfect pit stop on our journey.
The menu had a fantastic variety, from classic rolls to more creative options that showcased the chef's talent and passion. Every dish was prepared with precision, and the fish was incredibly fresh – rivaling what you’d find in some of Vancouver’s top sushi spots. The Ocean Dream Roll stood out as a must-try, blending flavors and textures beautifully. We also loved their miso soup and tempura, which were warm, comforting, and perfectly executed.
The service was friendly and attentive, with staff going out of their way to ensure we had a great dining experience. Despite being a small-town restaurant, the quality and presentation felt top-notch.
If you’re traveling through Grand Forks, don’t miss the chance to stop by Sushi Ocean Dream. It’s a hidden treasure that offers a delightful break from the road and a meal that rivals big-city sushi. Highly recommended!

Delicious food with fresh ingredients and amazing flavors! Nice family run business with kind professional staff. We're from Vancouver where we have an abundance of Japanese restaurants so we were a bit skeptical about going to a Japanese restaurant in a small town in the interior but we saw all the great reviews and thought we'd give it a shot. We were very pleasantly surprised and will definitely come back every time we're in Grand Forks! Highly recommend Sushi Ocean Dream!
