Best burger and fresh salad.

Super slow service. Food is very mediocre. My order came with side hash. Portion was TINY and all of it burnt black. Kind of felt like it was a practical joke. The staff appear to be all teens so maybe it was a joke. I would stay clear of this place if I were you.

We were here 2 days ago for lunch. The food was okay, but the wait was 30 minutes.
Today we went back, stood in front of the counter for 5 minutes. No one asked what I wanted even though the rush of lunch hour was over and most tables were empty. I didn’t know if they were just too tired to take my order so I just walked away.

Forage is one of the best spots to eat at on Hornby. All ingredients are extremely fresh and the food is incredible. My boyfriend and I went for lunch and enjoyed it so much we went back for breakfast the next day! The atmosphere is very warm and everyone is very kind.

Wow. Don’t sleep on this place. This quaint little restaurant serves big flavour and top notch quality. The pork belly sandwich was perfect; the pork belly had this delectable maple glaze/ marinade and was not oily. The vegetables were farm fresh and bursting with flavour and don’t forget the fresh, soft bun. Yum! My wife’s burger was so tasty with the same fresh veg and handmade patty. I’d highly recommend anyone visiting Hornby looking for a quality meal bursting with flavours to make the stop. You won’t be disappointed.

This is the slowest restaurant I’ve even been too. Not to mention running out of potatoes and chicken at 1 pm and they’re right beside a grocery store that’s open and sells both.

Even with rating on five stars on the three categories listed above I still gave this establishment an overall four stars here is why. The food hands down was great. However we did not like being ignored for the for five minutes at the counter . It was a bit confusing and the line behind us was growing. It would not have taken the girls working behind the counter on putting other peoples orders to look up and let us know that someone would be with us. This approach seems common in too many establishments. There are no washrooms. Apparently it’s a Hornby this thing. Fair enough but warning to those who have a wonderful lunch. The Porta-Potties you’re directed to are stinky. Have a close pin for your nose so you don’t throw up that wonderful food or use it before eating . However that’s not something a non local would know. Then you have to search for where you can wash your hands after. Not a great end.

Quant little cafe situated in a cute artsy block filled with cafes and gift stores and live musicians in the court yard. Let me say this is my favorite Caesar in the Vancouver Island area. Sweet, tangy, spicy and punchy. All around delicious. My Vietnamese salad was surprisingly good. Peanut based dressing was delicious and refreshing. Although I didn’t taste it, my wife’s Grilled Cheese and my son’s BLTC was also good. It was a pleasant spot to rest and eat after a good hike though Helliwell Provincial Park.

Peanut noodles and salad bowls were fantastic! Worth waiting for an hour. Wonderful staff. Seatings indoor were nothing to brag about but we were just thankful to hide from the scorching sun. Limited patio seating. The place gets packed during lunch hour as you can imagine waiting an hour for your order.
