We had a wonderful time at this quaint yet magical vineyard on our engagement weekend. We were fortunate to have arrived in mid-September when we were the only guests and felt like we had our own personal paradise. The campfire, the twinkling lights around the gazebo on the lagoon, and the jingle of the bells on the cats' collars in the evening added to the whimsy of this special destination. We rented one of the deluxe tents which makes you feel like you have the luxury of a hotel room in the middle of nature. Highly recommend it! The staff are friendly and courteous and keep the amenities clean. Thank you to the lovely proprietors for their care and kindness and adding to what was already the best weekend ever! Can't wait to go back.EDIT: We returned here one year after our engagement for our honeymoon and it was just as special as ever. This time we got to taste the wonderful food from the restaurant (last year it was closed for the season so we didn't get the chance) and it was amazing! The owner and his staff are all so lovely. We had such a great time that we didn't want to leave, and booked an extra night. Looking forward to coming back next year.

We had a lovely meal at The Table. The atmosphere was cozy on a rainy night. The salad from the garden was delicious and the portions generous. The homemade focaccia was perfect for dipping in the Coq au vin. Thé staff mostly university students working here for the summer were friendly and engaging. The Pinot Gris made from the vineyard was icy cold and refreshing. We didn’t feel rushed and had great experience. Thank you.

Service with a smile. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, beautiful setting, and kid-friendly. Wife and I did the tasting while kids played with bean bags and picked blackberries. Wish we could've stayed for the musician setting up as we were leaving.

Very fine wine tasting with a knowledgeable guide. Annie is a contentious server, with lots of local knowledge ?

It’s my first time on Hornby and I worked in the industry for 15 years. Also my folks live in wine country - I arrived super late because Google didn’t say it was closed and then when i arrived, I was rejected after driving around the island for hours to find food or even just a drink. I would’ve been super happy to just sip wine while the staff closed, but instead was rejected and sent on my way. Really wanted to check this place out, but not anymore.

Had an unfortunate experience in the tasting room. Went to pick up a half dozen bottles and ended up leaving without them, as the attendant just ignored us after getting the bottles boxed (but before checking us out). After 5-10 minutes (with a small child) I just left. Had a similar experience at dinner a couple of nights before - food was decent (nothing special), but the service was nothing to write home about (they missed an item we ordered and it took longer than expected to receive our items). Perhaps we will try again next time we are on the island.Reply - tough to see how she was “confused” as she was completely ignoring us and my small child was getting quite antsy. I also don’t see how she could have interpreted our conduct as anything other than wanting to complete our purchase, but I guess we will have to take your word for it. We have now left the island, with our experience at your vineyard as a lone low spot on an otherwise spectacular trip. Maybe next time.

This is a great place to visit when in Hornby Island. You can test the wines and enjoy a meal in the restaurant. Food is great, specially the ragú and the prawn salad. Staff is friendly and professional.

5 of us arrived on time for a 630pm reservation. We ordered drinks and a few appetizers. We promptly ordered our dinner at about 650pm. We were likely the last service of the night as the restaurant closed at 800pm.Our food didn’t arrive until about 850pm, two hours after we had ordered. The restaurant was mostly cleared out by then and we ate in the dark. About 15 minutes before our food arrived our server brought a complimentary few slices of focaccia and some olives. The food was tasty when it finally arrived. Our server was attentive and charming. But I would have expected some acknowledgement of the frankly unacceptable service. The bread and olives simply didn’t cut it.

Anyone who's been to Hornby Island knows there aren't that many places to eat out, so to have a relatively new gem like this on the island, it's a blessing. While the food is good (not amazing though), the service was charmingly interactive, and the atmosphere is stellar. If you eat there in the summer, you can sit on the patio, overlooking the vineyards, and they have live music playing on the other side of the restaurant (so unfortunately you can't see it) that plays nicely in the background. And if you have a small dog like we did, they have no problem with you keeping it next to you on the patio, so we were very appreciative of that.Sadly we were not able to try their wines on this visit, so I cannot comment on those.Overall, a must-visit if you're coming to Hornby Island!

I had a wonderful dining experience with my family at Lerena! Vanessa, our server, was attentive, kind, and knowledgeable about the menu. Lerena is lucky to have her! The food was really, really good - easily some of the best I’ve had on Hornby Island over the past 15 years. Lots of flavour and very fresh ingredients. Plus, great options for any vegan pals!

My wife and I stopped in on two occasions, once for a wine tasting and once for dinner. The wine is quite lovely, but the dinner left us wanting. My wife ordered wine at dinner and it came out rather warm. Warm white wine, is not a pleasant experience. We had a lovely cheese plate with local (I think) honey that was quite nice, and I had a really good blueberry mint mocktail. But things sort of fell apart after that. There was a group behind us who the staff seemed to put all their focus on. I guess I understand, when the group is one of 8 and they’re loudly talking about being VCs from Vancouver, makes sense to focus on them. But they basically had 2 servers constantly with them, while we were ignored.I asked for a glass of wine when our cheese plate was picked up hoping to have it with my dinner, it never came. We ordered wine after everything else and my glass was warm while my wife’s was chilled. The food was unremarkable. I ordered the miso glazed tofu and my wife the trout. Her trout was well cooked and she enjoyed it, but most of the food was rather bland. Mine was almost tasteless. The rice was undercooked and unseasoned. Really disappointing experience. I’ll chalk it up to inexperience with the serving staff, and I assume kitchen as well, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. I wouldn’t return. 4* for the wine, 3* for the dining experience.

I really enjoyed the ambience, service and food. The beet salad and creme brulee were very good. I like their meritage (red bordeaux style) wine. Excellent airflow through the restaurant. Thanks to the chef, Marija, and one of the owners, Daniel. Also thanks to Skylar and our host and table server. Very enjoyable evening.

Visiting hornby from toronto. Was told by a few locals to pop by lerena, boy were we happy we followed the advice. The food was spectacular and of the level If not higher if what you get at fancy places in the city. Service was warm, fast and very friendly and the ambience so beautiful and nature inspired. Cannot wait to return, thanks to the staff and kitchen for making our trip so memorable
