I usually try to give businesses the benefit of the doubt, but after several visits with no improvement, I cannot recommend this Dairy Queen. The location feels run down and poorly maintained. Right when you walk in, you’re greeted by a “cake book” that’s falling apart, sticky, and stained.
The staff often seem either severely understaffed or simply uninterested in providing good service (I’m assuming the latter). On multiple occasions, my friends and I have had to wave someone down just to place an order after waiting for quite some time. Often, after one person in our group pays, the staff will walk away before taking the rest of our orders, leaving half the group waiting while the others already have their treats. Service is consistently slow, with 15–20 minute waits for ice cream being the norm.
Cleanliness is another issue. The floors near the drink machine and garbage bins are so sticky you can feel your shoes pulling up with each step. The bathrooms are dirty every single time I’ve used them, giving the impression they aren’t cleaned regularly. On top of that, I’ve witnessed staff standing on the counters in the back with their shoes on, and not washing their hands between running the till and making food—something that should never happen in a food establishment.
This week, I tried calling several times to order a cake but was repeatedly hung up on. When I went in person, the employee was dismissive and rude, telling me I should have come earlier even though he stated himself their phones weren’t working and never do because of the location of the phone. He refused to take my order, citing a “mandatory 48/24-hour notice.” I ended up driving to another DQ farther away, where the staff were friendly, the restaurant was spotless, and they took my cake order without issue.
At this point, I’d rather drive the extra 15 minutes for good service and a clean environment. It’s disappointing, because this location could be just as good as other local DQs if management held it to the same standard

This location has gone downhill, the workers aren’t trained and work at an incredibly slow rate. The management needs to pay for better workers. I waited 30 minutes for onions rings…

This afternoon I brought a burger and a Sundae. All good. Tonight I returned for 2 burgers, fries and a sundae. The order took a while so I finished the sundae while I waited. Driving away I tried the fries and they were warm. Then I tried the burger and it was just warm. Ate it anyway, but it was disappointingly lukewarm.

This used to be a nice pleasant location to pick up an ice cream. Not anymore, it’s absolutely filthy. Dirty everywhere. Staff unorganized and really gave off the vibe they’d rather be anywhere else. But the overriding complaint I have about this place is how dirty it is. There are lots of other options nearby for ice cream, it will be interesting to see if this place survives. I for one will not be going back into this Dairy Queen on Lakeshore, Kelowna. And I advise others to KEEP AWAY!

Dairy Queen never disappoints! The food was absolutely delicious – from the crispy chicken strips to the perfectly seasoned fries and the iconic Blizzard treat, everything hit the spot. The store was clean, well-organized, and had a welcoming vibe. What truly stood out was the amazing staff – so kind, attentive, and full of positive energy. They made sure we felt valued and served with a smile. Thank you to the whole team for such a great experience. Definitely one of the best DQ locations I’ve ever visited!

Absolutely amazing experience at Dairy Queen! The food was fresh, delicious, and served just the way we love it – hot, flavorful, and made with care. The Blizzard was the cherry on top – creamy, rich, and packed with flavor. But what truly made our visit special was the outstanding service from the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and efficient. You can really feel the positive atmosphere and dedication of the team. A big shout-out to the entire crew for making every visit memorable. Keep up the fantastic work – this DQ location truly sets the bar high!

Not the best by not the worst.

Watched the “cook” mangle his bandaid and open wound multiple times and then proceed to touch the food he was serving to the customer before me with his bare, unwashed hands. Touching lettuce, cheese, buns, and other vegetables not getting deep fried but going straight to the customer to consume. Plus the deep fried fries. Disgusted, and will not be coming here again and will tell anyone I know not to as well. Worst location in Kelowna as I’ve seen non food safe precautions here multiple times.

For starters this Dairy Queen is so dirty and mold is everywhere. How is this place in business? The buster parfait and blizzard were sour, could not even finish it. The ice cream was definitely expired. Super disappointed and disgusted!!

I ordered through the app unfortunately so I can’t just leave but it is so dirty in here there is dust bunny’s all over the ground it’s terrible and the staff was rude about the mobile order pick up location
