I went there twice now and was disappointed both times. The first time, I wasn't impressed with the food and left still hungry, but seeing as my wife loves crepes I wanted to take her there for a second try. I forgot that all the tables are shoved to one side so close that we felt like we were eavesdropping on every other tables' conversations, while half the floorspace is empty. We ordered two crepes and it was a half hour before we got them, while people who ordered after us were getting their food before us. The crepes were served on paper plates with plastic utensils like we were at a picnic. Presentation was very bland. Mine was just a flat brown square, and my wife's was burnt all over so that whenever she tried to cut it, the crepe just ended up cracking or crumbling like a cracker. We could tell they had strategically doused all the burnt sections (AKA most of the crepe) with powdered sugar to try and hide it. Mine was supposed to have egg in it but I could barely see any when I opened it up. Again, we both left hungry.

I had a vegetarian crepe with fresh spinach, mushroon, Swiss cheese and a creamed soup, carrot, ginger & yam. The soup was fresh tasting. Not too salty so the flavours come through. The crepe was delicious & healthy. Pleasant atmosphere, light jazz music in the background. Friendly owner!

I was here for a coffee/lunch date with a friend last week. We were originally going to go for coffee at one of the many cafés in the area, but then I saw Empire Crepe and we wanted to check that out. Best idea ever. The owner was lovely and welcoming, and had so much pride in her products (which was very well deserved). The food was really good. It was so hard to decide between the savoury and the sweet crepes, but I'll be back to try more. Especially since the prices were completely reasonable, and the portions were huge.

Top notch decor... The crepe is definitely chewier than I would have expected. Really hard to cut through with the disposable knife. Lots of fillings though. I had the classic sweet crepe...tastes good, just really chewy crepe.
