We had our company holiday party at Matadora Tapas and it was fantastic! There were fifteen of us and they handled the whole evening so well. The food was phenomenal (it's OMG good), the cocktails were delish, the service was on point, and everything just felt easy. Our team had such a good night! They made it simple for us and delivered a really great experience. Highly recommend.

Such a delicious spot with great food! A woman owned business, mother and daughter team Veerle and Vanessa, have created a cozy yet vibrant spot with great tunes and a Spanish vibe. From the first dish of olives all the way to the final glass of Pacharán, everything hit the spot. Highly recommend the vermouth tasting flight and we took the basque cheesecake to go, because we were too full, but didn’t want to miss out. Also as someone with celiac they took the extra effort to walk me through options, and there were many. While they don’t have a dedicated GF section, I felt very cared for and everything was delicious. Highly recommend you check it out!

Am awesome place for some Spanish tapas. Every dish was delicious. Overall maybe everything was a bit salty but overall such amazing flavours. Great drink options as well. Bring friends so you can share all the dishes

Got a babysitter and planned a dinner out with friends. We lobbied a few ideas back and forth on where to go and settled on trying somewhere we hadn’t tried before: Matadora. We made the right choice!Everything from the cozy room to the thoughtful service to the amazing drink list to the authentic Spanish tapas…it was all perfection! Highly recommend a glass of vermouth (I made a random choice and was blown away), the olives (wow! Best olives I have ever had), and the Boquerones (white pickled anchovy - not something I would normally order but can’t stop thinking about how delicious this dish was). The Pulpo a la Galllega (octopus) was also amazing and so tender. Thank you for such a lovely evening out.

My mom and I wandered into Matadora as we were passing by and we are so glad we did! This really is an authentic family business with care and consideration put into the ingredients and flavours. Absolutely delicious dishes that I have never tried before. The vol au vent was awesome! It’s really a large amount of food for tapas. Martin’s service was the cherry on top, he was knowledgeable and genuine. They have a really cool tasting menu as well and this would be a really fun date. Quiet cozy atmosphere.

Service was friendly and the food came out quickly, but that’s where the positives end. For over $100 for two people, we left hungry and disappointed. Some dishes came out hot, others were room temperature, and the ingredients didn’t seem fresh—some even tasted canned. We tried the server’s recommendations, but everything was just mediocre. Not sure where all the great reviews are coming from.

Took my 2 friends from Vancouver out here earlier this week, and it was great! We did the set 'tasting menu for 2', and also ordered the Ensalada Mediterranea, the Orzo con Queso, and some extra bread on the side. For three people this was a decent amount of food, and the Ensalada Mediterranea was delicious and a pretty big portion.
Chelsea was our server and she did a fantastic job - refilling our water, checking in with us after almost every course, and providing some great banter. For my friends who were visiting from out of town, it was an awesome experience and I felt I should shout Chelsea out for her amazing and attentive service.
The restaurant itself was quiet and cozy, a nice hole-in-the-wall location I would recommend to other out-of-towners.

We're Victoria locals. We haven't had the chance to eat here yet. Just had our first experience and it was absolutely phenomenal. From start to finish the ambiance and the service was amazing. The food was beyond expectations. Definitely a hidden gem 10 out of 10. Thank you so much.

Every dish we got was amazing, and while they were very busy, we never felt ignored. The staff made sure we were well taken care of. Don’t miss the risotto, and it paired perfectly with the shrimp!
