Mizu Japanese Restaurant sushi

Happened upon this restaurant and really enjoyed my experience! The staff are kind and attentive, the sushi is great (inari, spicy salmon roll, dynamite roll), and good price. Generous serving of ginger and wasabi. It's a little thing but it made me happy lol.
Will come again!

I have been going to Mizu since it began decades ago, and tho ownership has changed a few times the quality of food has not. I am loving the current flavors, and I am really impressed that their takeout packaging is becoming more environmentally friendly than the previous Styrofoam containers. Thank you!

One of the best rolls I’ve had. The house special roll has all the good seafood in it and everything tasted fresh.
All appetizers were great and refreshing, perfect for summer. The server was friendly and helpful, plus it was very reasonably priced, and you get a good little surprise with your bill :)

We ordered food from here last night. We tried one bite of the tuna sashimi and it had definitely gone bad. It tasted extremely fishy, smelled even worse. Not to mention the way it was cut was pretty gross. It looked like raw pork not fish, I’ve never seen such thick slices of sashimi. I called the restaurant to let them know- in hopes they would check their supply. While they did apologize, they argued that it couldn’t possibly have gone bad… it did go bad but whatever. We didn’t eat the negitoro roll because we didn’t want to eat any of the fish we got from them. The rest of the meal was super off putting too. The yam roll had a paste-like texture, was dry and seemed like it was old. The sunamono noodles in one of the two we got were not cooked. The avocado in the avocado roll was not even close to ripe, it was almost crunchy. The chicken roll was dry. The other rolls we got had nothing technically wrong with them, but they weren’t good. The miso soup was quite good to be fair, but the rest was a waste of money. The tuna definitely ruined the meal, and our appetites… we ended up throwing the food away. This place used to be a great little sushi spot in Kelowna, so it’s sad that it’s like this now.

The sushi rolls here are amazing!
We tried a few different kinds, and the spicy one was definitely our favorite — just the right amount of heat without being too overwhelming.
The presentation was beautiful, and everything tasted super fresh.
Great spot if you’re a fan of fusion-style sushi with bold flavors.
Can’t wait to come back and try more!

This restaurant exceeded all my expectations! Every dish was packed with authentic Japanese flavor and presented with elegance. The sashimi was incredibly fresh and buttery, and the sushi was crafted to perfection — the rice had just the right texture and seasoning, and the fish melted in my mouth.

What truly stood out was the attention to detail in both flavor and presentation. Each plate looked like a work of art, and the ingredients were clearly top quality.

The ambiance was peaceful and beautifully decorated with subtle Japanese elements, creating a relaxing dining experience. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel very welcome.

If you’re looking for a place that serves top-tier sushi and traditional Japanese dishes with care and precision, this is the spot. I will definitely be coming back!

Had my experience in their restaurant last couple days. Good food and excellent service! Kinda like their sushi and sauce combination. The waitress Cici is very friendly and caring towards us. Keep filling up our glass of water and checking with me about the food. She also give me an extra napkin immediately when she saw mine dropped. Will come back for sure !

We drive all the way from the far side of West Kelowna to eat at Mizu!! It is SO GOOD! The service is so friendly and welcoming and the food is top notch!
The sunomono is the perfect amount of vinegar and sweetness, the tempura is crispy and the tempura sauce is so flavorful!!

Highly, highly highly recommend!!!

I would give 0 stars if i could. Sushis worse than grocery shop sushi station. Sashimi was rubbery, not fresh at all. Sunomono noodles were over soaked, soup was just vinegar. All the tables were full of dishes to be cleaned entire time we were there. Washroom is filthy. Service is so bad. We travel a lot and i would say this is the worst sushi restaurant i have ever been to, hands down.

I usually don't leave reviews for restaurants. I feel like this one needed one. Long story short, if you want something worse than T&T sushi, this is for you. We are quite fond of Sunomono from other restaurants. However, this restaurant's broth for sunomono was straight vinegar. We ordered a set of dynamite, mango, salmon and a sashimi Bento. Needless to say it was utterly disappointing. Again, if you had T&T sushi, you're not missing much.
Service wise, there was 2 tables in total (us included) and it must've taken them a good 30min to come out. Also, not once did the waitress come out to ask us how to food was and did not even refill our water.
Cleanliness wise, this place needs an inspection.

Awesome place to eat in Kelowna! Fast service, clean and fresh food, love their sashimi, tataki and yakisoba! Sushi trays are great for parties, can feed 4-5 people! Ample parkings, convenient location.
