I am so struck that all of their coffee comes from a single origin, direct from a family farm in Columbia. That is exceptional, but I don't think most customers realize that! I think Model Bean needs to emphasize this story so people realize how special it is. Put up a massive mural or something on the wall that explains this story so people know as soon as they come in.
One of the few local places where you can get a really good cup of drip coffee for a reasonable price. Massive respect for that!! I suppose things are more pricey as you order fancier coffee. But their drip coffee is fabulous. Appreciated all that much more knowing it's coming direct from a family farm. I've ordered a couple of different food items and they are simple but thoughtfully prepared and come out on a little wooden tray. I think if they focus on being a place for excellent, ethical, good quality coffee, they needn't worry too much about serving gourmet food.
You can tell whoever is in charge of decorating the interior has pretty good taste, though I think the space would benefit from some floor rugs, tapestries, or even a couple of nice upholstered armchairs, to warm up the feel of the space. Also, it would help with the acoustics-- there are a lot of hard surfaces in there and so the noise of the coffee making and the background music echoes and is a bit harsh if you're sitting inside. (They could also turn down the music a bit, if they want to invite folks to stay and visit with friends.) But there is so much potential! I appreciated the accent of the wood canopy thing over top of the coffee bar.
I really hope this place can thrive and I think it's all about emphasizing their unique story in Kelowna!

My wife and I both had lattes. They have almond and oat milk alternatives. The coffee was simply fabulous! We have been looking for a good non-chain coffee shop for a long time and I think we have found it. The interior and decor dont give that coffee shop feeling. Tables and decor are sparse. However, the friendliness and coffee make up for that!

Your typical cafe spot. My drink was okay, nothing special. It's cute inside and the barista was nice, but it's not my first go-to place. Prices are average here, which still means they're on the expensive side. Because there is so many cafe's in Kelowna, I'm waiting for something extra special to make them stand out!
