Service was disappointing to say the least. I have never come across a server who carried themselves in such an unfriendly manner which made me feel I was an inconveniences for coming in to support the business. As an avid connoisseur of Japanese cuisine and someone who has worked at one of the top Japanese restaurants on the east coast, I was entirely disappointed with my meal. Store bought ranch dressing for the salad? The size of the sashimi was a fraction of the size of all other restaurants I have eaten at in town. To sum it up, it felt as though the cooks have zero passion as minimal effort was made. As a server for over a decade, it killed me leave my first ever $0 tip. I certainly will never be back and do not recommend based on the environment in which the server created alone. I would suggest any other Japanese restaurant in Kelowna before going to this one as I have eaten at them all.

Not recommending. Curry is salty and the vegies are bland. Even the miso soup itself is super salty.

Food is fine but service is abominable. Small order dine in, no napkin, no water, no soya sauce, no main plate. Had to request everything. Waitress grumpy.

Waitress prioritized table wiping over taking orders. She went on wiping 2 more tables before coming to me after I waved at her politely.
When she finally came, she said "what"
I've never given a 1 star review for service but here you go.
Water also tasted funny
No recommending to anyone nor am I coming back.
Had the Nigiri platter A and chop scallop and yoro Nigiri on the side.
It tasted like it's prepared by an apprentice.
Costco/tnt/save on make better sushi.
Some fish were icy cold. The sushi rice was mediocre.
And they want 20-30% tip.
Seriously I would not tip at all.
Overall price is not cheap. However value = food that fills your stomach.

Oka is amazing! They have awesome staff who work tirelessly to make sure their guests are taken care of, I love eating here their food is spectacular (highly recommend the Volcano roll).
I had them provide food for my wedding reception and it was unbelievable the food went so fast! Very reasonably priced for all food and large orders such as a wedding reception!

Is this Japanese or Chinese?? It's lazy inauthentic food. Order soba and you don't even get soba noodles, you'll get Chinese egg noodle instead.

Oka? More like Okay. Very okay food and even more okay service, not very friendly. Although the speciality rolls were pretty good, the regular rolls we ordered did not taste very fresh. Incredibly mediocre experience.

I paid over 40 dollars, plus tips, for one chicken udon soup and one tonkotsu ramen. Chicken is not fresh, should not be offered to customers. Additionally, there were only three small pieces of pork in the tonkotsu ramen. Food quality was not good. This was my worst noodle experience in Kelowna.

Getting a 1 star because of price and portion size. I went here for my birthday lunch and ordered salmon and tuna sashimi with an ebi roll. My wife ordered 3 regular/small rolls, Nothing special. (she's tiny). Our bill was $58 before tax and tip. The service was great so I feel bad about leaving a lousy review but I honestly won't be back. The sashimi was frozen and yet was falling apart. It was very thin and a very small portion. The ebi roll was literally the same size as a Maki roll. I ordered an additional California roll to help fill me up (I'm not a big guy) but was also very small like a Maki roll and hardly anything inside. I don't mind paying good money for good food and I know people are making cut backs but I really think they can do better.

A warning I don't normally post anything but I am a bit tired of being told that imitation crab is fine for a person with a shellfish allergy. I am tired of not being able to eat my food because a restaurant does not read the instructions. I always ask for my food to be packed separately as I have an allergy to shellfish. My food keeps coming packaged with California rolls. As most are aware these are made with imitation crab. Imitation crab has crab has crab in it. Just not much. For someone with an anaphylactic shellfish allergy though this could be deadly. I have copy and pasted below the answer to the question. "Can someone eat imitation crab if they are allergic to shellfish? Likely not. This is because imitation crab typically contains 2% or less of king crab meat (shellfish) and also contains natural and artificial extracts of crab and lobster." Please stop packaging shellfish, imitation or not, with other foods when someone specifically says they have an allergy. Don't assume you know better. Don't assume that you know the severity of the allergy. If a customer asks you to package something separately due to an allergy please give them the benefit of the doubt as to know what they are asking for rather than assuming you know better. I have had multiple take out orders from this restaurant that have all showed up with my food nestled in next to the California rolls. I lose half of my dinner due to this. I am tired of it. I will not order from here again and am posting this as information for the staff at this restaurant and for future customers.
