Stunning waterfront
Very nice location, with private beach access and a quality restaurant attached to it. The hotel itself is old and has no upkeep. Our balcony furniture was dirty and the balcony itself had weeds growing on it. The room was outdated and not worth the price. It’s nice that they have select pet friendly rooms but they make you sign an agreement upon check-in with very strict rules, such as your dog cannot use any furniture in the room. I’m unsure why they charge an extra nightly pet fee when there are so many rules to the pet friendly rooms.
The Eldorado Resort Marina is attached to the resort, which is supposed to ease access to water activities. That’s the theory. I booked a two-person kayak online. When I arrived I was told, “ the last one had just been sent out.” I pointed out I had an online booking. Her excuse was “bookings are on a first come first served basis,” and that she was “very surprised I was able to book a time online.” Ironically, this came after having difficulty finding the reservation in the first place. The situation turned out to be more of a disappointment than anything, but why allow online bookings that come with financial penalty for not cancelling a booking when the booking is not going to be honoured?
A scenic as resorts come. Place is beautiful.
“The Weight of Wanting”
By K.A. Hill McPherson
Monday night. The pub sat lakeside, quiet in the off-season. A few men, alone in their routines, nursed their drinks like a dying habit. The air was thick with words, their voices loud enough to cover the silence that lived in all of them, as they tried to fix the world with opinions too worn to matter anymore.
Then the door opened.
A stranger stepped in. Not from around here. You could tell by the way his coat settled over his shoulders, by the shine of his watch that caught the bar light. Generous. Alone. Drunk.
He slid onto a stool near the locals, slapped a black metal card on the bar.
“I’m buying. What’ll it be?”
The men didn’t hesitate. Beers. Shots. The ritual.
They drank like men wandering through a desert, desperate for something to fill them, knowing it wouldn’t be enough. The whiskey burned, but it never reached the emptiness inside.
Then she walked in.
There was no rush about her. She moved like she knew she could take her time.
Tall. Blonde. A cashmere sweater that caught the light, cigarette pants that fit like they were made for her. The kind of woman men had killed for, the kind who had seen it all and remained untouched by it.
The air shifted. Conversations faltered. The men watched her the way the thirsty watch rain, as if just seeing her might be enough.
She sat at the far end of the bar. Ordered bourbon on the rocks, her voice low, steady. Her eyes didn’t meet theirs, didn’t even drift in their direction. She was somewhere else. Or maybe she was just done being seen.
The bartender leaned in close. “That’s the good stuff.”
The men nodded. They knew.
But they didn’t speak. They couldn’t.
She took her time with the drink, as though savoring a moment that wouldn’t last, even though she knew it couldn’t. The men watched her, and in the space between their stares, they felt the weight of wanting something they’d never have.
She finished her drink. Paid without a word.
Then she was gone.
The door shut softly behind her.
The men stayed in the quiet, the kind that comes after something has passed, but none of them can quite understand what it was.
The generous man cleared his throat. “Another round?”
The bartender nodded, pouring the next drink without a word.
The world outside was cold, still, dark. And the men kept drinking.
One drink at a time.

We had a wonderful experience at Manteo Resort. The service was excellent — the staff went out of their way to ensure we were well taken care of. The property itself is beautiful and well-maintained,they anre doing reno's and it’s clear that guest comfort is a top priority. We also appreciated their professionalism and how they handled a small issue with care and integrity. Highly recommend, and we look forward to staying again!
Our room had a lake view but I don't think it is worth $400 a night!!
Had a wonderful stay. Staff is congenial. Will be back again without a doubt
We really enjoyed our stay here. The suite was amazing 👏 bed luxurious, and loved the soaker tub with lake view.
This hotel thinks it owns a piece of public property. The boardwalk near the Hotel Eldorado in Kelowna is public and remains open to the PUBLIC; a court appeal by the hotel owners was DISMISSED.

It boasts 4 star but reality says struggles to make 3 star
Tourists seem to like it, even though the owners have repeatedly reneged on their agreement with the City of Kelowna to have the boardwalk there open to the public.
In my experience, at Manteo and the co-owned Eldorado next door, the view is excellent, the food is mediocre, the service poor, and management is abysmal.
My recent stay at the Eldorado in Kelowna was nothing short of exceptional. The resort's location is simply unbeatable, offering stunning views of the lake and easy access to all that Kelowna has to offer. We opted for a townhouse, and it proved to be the perfect choice. The accommodations were spacious, comfortable, and impeccably maintained, providing all the conveniences of home. Whether relaxing on the patio overlooking the water or enjoying the resort's many amenities, our time at the Eldorado was a truly memorable experience.
Satisfactory overall experience, despite the rather expensive restaurant prices. In fact, when we asked about breakfast, we were told that it had nothing to do with them and that we'd have to check directly with the restaurant ($30 for a buffet, which is rather expensive. I'd recommend the café around the corner, which is much cheaper and has a lovely patio).
Correct room, even if located just above the kitchens facing the parking lot (be careful when booking). Unfortunately only two cups for the room, for a reservation of 3.
But my experience was ruined after I checked out. Unfortunately, my daughter forgot a sentimental object in the room, so I called directly but the staff were cold and useless. Two emails later, still no response.
It gives the impression that once they've taken your money, you're no longer important. Too bad for the hotel's standing, it's the first time this has happened to me and I'm still surprised by the heartlessness and unhelpfulness of the hotel staff at a time when a little humanity would be appreciated.
My whole experience was ruined not by the view, not by the lack of equipment in the room, but rather by this lack of communication, which caused me to lose a highly sentimental personal object that I will probably never see again.
I don't recommend it, find another much better establishment in the area for the same price range.
Ps, dear hôtel, if you see this comment. You can still contact me to find a solution.
