If you’re in Kelowna and craving some bold, over-the-top comfort food, Smoke’s Poutinerie hits the spot. Their menu is massive — everything from classic poutine to wild combos like Pulled Pork, Bacon Cheeseburger, and even Butter Chicken poutine. I went with the Original Poutine and it did not disappoint: smoky, salty, cheesy, and absolutely loaded.

The portion sizes are generous, and even a regular can fill you up. The fries are thick-cut and crisp (most of the time), smothered in rich gravy and cheese curds that actually melt — a must for real poutine fans.

Staff were friendly and fast. It’s more of a grab-and-go or late-night spot than a sit-down experience, but the vibe is fun and casual. Great for after a night out or a serious cheat meal.

Only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is consistency — I've had amazing poutine here, but once or twice the fries were a bit soggy or the toppings weren’t evenly spread. Still, when they get it right (which is most of the time), it's delicious.

Definitely worth a stop if you're in downtown Kelowna and want to try poutine with personality.

We hit up this place on one of the busiest days of the year. The food was not as hyped as I remembered from NS but that is because this store only had one girl working all by herself. That is where the other high stars were developed. It was the first day of pride and she was doing it all. Cooking, taking orders over phone and at the counter, taking the money for the orders. So that is why the food only had three stars. If she had more help, it would of been off the charts. But she handled this place good and kept the rest of the stars high. Not sure who she is but it was on June 1st between 12 and 130pm. Thanks for keeping the smile on your face, even though I could see and feel the fear of loneliness in you.

Bought a traditional poutine from here and found a brunette hair in the food… I’m blonde😑

Terrible poutine. Fries must've been leftover from night before and re-warmed. Never again.

Great portion. I had the smallest size and it was enough for me and my partner. Wide variety of flavors. Price is alright and it’s near the lake so you can munch on it by the water.

One poor girl taking orders and making food, so it was a really long wait for food despite supposedly being a fast food restaurant and the place was quiet. When food was ready, the chicken in my grilled chicken poutine tasted like rubber. I'm pretty sure it was microwaved. The place was also quite dirty. I don't recommend it here.

My partner spent half an hour waiting for food only to be given the wrong thing. One poor girl working who didn't seem to know what she was doing. He was in too much of a rush to bother trying to get a refund or wait for the right meal to be made again for him as he had to get to work.

Then the meal he was given tasted so disappointing. What a waste of time and money. Also seems like a really bad move for management to leave that girl who didn't seem well trained to run everything all by herself on a busy Saturday afternoon

Avoid this place, considering the wide range of choice there is locally.

We were due back on our tour bus within a certain time frame (50mins) but we spent most of it in here waiting for food. A 35+ min wait for supposedly 'fast food' but there was only one poor girl working the till & cooking the food so a wait was to be expected; shame we didn't realise she was by herself and doing all of it - we should've asked for a refund & try and find somewhere else to salvage the lunch break.

Food was sadly below average too - hot enough but the chicken was really rubbery and no real flavour to the meal or gravy. Felt like a massive waste of time & money - we didn't have time to finish our food in the end so left most of it.

I am impressed by the establishment and the diverse array of options available, my autistic son thoroughly enjoyed his initial experience and was particularly fond of the cuisine, with the cheeseburger poutine and Thanksgiving poutine being are my absolute favorites, but there are numerous other options to explore, hands down the best destination for a poutine.

How are you screw up a french fries and cheese dish. Well these guys did. The fries were mostly end pieces. Hard and partly raw. The cheese was rubbery, and the gravy tasted aweful. Worst food I've ever had. And to add insult to injury, it cost 33 bucks for 2 small routine and one small coke. Wouldn't recommend this aweful joint.

This was one of the best poutines I've ever had from a restaurant. The box was full to the hilt, and they did *not* skimp on the toppings — there was tons of bacon and cheese spread evenly throughout my poutine. The gravy wasn't too salty, and the bacon was crispy despite being covered in gravy. Their onion rings were fantastic as well, especially with the malt vinegar they provided, but you likely won't have room for any sides if you order their larger portion.

Additionally, the staff were very friendly, and they served my order fairly quickly. The entire place was clean and spotless, it was nicely decorated, and the menu was readable. Some might find the bar cramped, but it depends on your preferences — I found it cozy. Definitely check it out if you go downtown.

Had the Slaughterhouse poutine. Was in their secret menu and it was amazing. Super massive. Solid spot and great service. The young guy with glasses in the front was amazing.

I purchased the large butter chicken poutine, it was around $20 plus tip. The service was very good. I was expecting chicken in my butter chicken poutine for some reason, but there was none. The sauce was very salty and didn’t remind me of butter chicken sauce at all. I had mentioned that I loved butter chicken, and this was not anywhere close. Luckily below that layer of butter chicken sauce was regular poutine so I had some lunch to eat. Sharing did not go over well as it was Not up to snuff for my husband. He had nothing but a couple of bites. I brought this to the attention of the young man that took my order and he understood my concerns. On my way out, he gave me a gift card for poutine which I will try on another date. Maybe I’ll get one with meat that cost the same! The young man did the right thing by giving me a gift card because that will give them another chance at a better review.
