I used to love Snowshoe Sam’s for the great après drinks and grub and lively nightlife — and now I love it just as much for the friendly service and welcoming, kid-friendly atmosphere for an early dinner. It’s always our go-to spot with family and friends when we’re up at the hill.
No matter what age or stage of life you’re in, Snowshoe Sam’s truly wonderful has something for everyone.

Recently, my family of four visited Snowshoe Sam’s for lunch, and while the food and drinks were delicious, our experience was marred by some unexpected service issues.
Our server, Raquel, was friendly and engaging at first, and we enjoyed chatting with her. My dad made a light-hearted joke about her name, which she responded to by referencing an actress we weren't all familiar with. This seemed to create a bit of disconnect in our conversation, and while we tried to keep the mood light, it felt like the tone shifted.
Unfortunately, midway through our meal, we were switched to another server. While the new server was nice, her apology for the “confusion” felt awkward and didn’t ease the discomfort we felt from the transition. It left us puzzled about what had happened and why the switch occurred.
Despite the service hiccups, we thoroughly enjoyed our smash burgers and drinks, which were truly top-notch. We appreciate the effort that goes into the food and hope that future visits will be smoother.
We’ll definitely return, hoping for improved communication and service, as we’d love to enjoy more wonderful days at Snowshoe Sam’s without the awkwardness we experienced this time. We wish Raquel the best and hope she can find ways to enhance her communication skills if she remains in the service industry. Thank you for the delicious food and drinks!

For us locals, Snowshoe Sam’s never disappoints. Such a great Big White vibe. Awesome beef dip & smashed burger with a Sam’s lager.. perfect lunch!! The service was exemplary from the greeter, waitress, and even the manager checked in! Cant wait to bring my family at Christmas!

This place is very dirty and run down. DESPERATELY needs to be torn down And that’s just the public spaces, can only imagine what the kitchen conditions are. They basically only served fried food.
Yes, in fact, I was at big white yesterday to get my ski house ready for the season and happened to walk by the outside of Snowshoe Sam’s. It looks abandoned and dilapidated. I’m curious to see the changes you’ve mentioned, but I can tell you that as of Aug 27/ 2024 I don’t have very high hopes.
Snowshoe Sam's was the chosen location for my friends bachelorette going out night. Although it's off-season, the staff was so welcoming and made our night unforgettable! Shout out to Brenda our server, who was attentive and has the best energy. Also to Coops, how always checked in with us and kept the party going. Terry who was always on the move making sure our section was free and clear (angel). Our other bartender friends and staff, thanks so much! P.s. the food was really good too!

I've only ever been twice - when I went last year we had horrible service, taking almost an hour to get a drink order (they had just opened, so there was a bit of an influx of customers but other tables after us were getting their food before we even got our drinks) and the food was kind of mid. When we went back this year I was pleasantly surprised in the change! I am sure when we went before it was just a one off, as we got the same server and he was super great! Very diligent and speedy, and even super helpful with the gluten free option that I required. I will say, their gluten free hamburger bun is to DIE FOR! I thoroughly enjoyed my second experience.
