Went for fondue - the concept was nice. The service was terrible - our waiter didn’t explain the fondue to us, circled back to our table rarely and left us feeling ignored. The cheese was delicious, and a decent variety of fondue dippers - that being said the presentation could’ve been improved, especially for the cost per person. The sticky toffee dessert was terrible. I don’t understand how it can be so mealy and cold?
Excellent start to our Kelowna trip! My partner and I were treating my mom to a weekend away and Summerhill came highly recommended. The views, wine, and food were all excellent. Special shoutout to manager Leah and our server Lyne for making the start of our trip memorable with their outstanding customer service. Will definitely be back! (And definitely get the burrata appetizer!)
I purchased few bottles of 2020 Cabernet Franc. All 3 which I opened had a clay sludge on a bottom. One half of the bottle was drinkable the other half went to disposal as it was unappealing.
I also purchased 12 bottles of 2023 Marechal Foch, the type of
wine quite enjoyable in the past. First bottle was bitter in taste while the second was sweet. It appears that all schlop which should not be considered wine is bottled and sold to on line customers. So much for buy Canadian. This is the last time I purchased wine from this winery. Why pay $36 and $27 per bottle of awful product when Chilean and Argentinian wines are good quality, pleasure to drink and cheaper.
Shame on Summerhill for selling me the crap.
The tour wasn’t that great, I found it quite long and dragging. Nothing against the tour guide; he was super friendly and nice, but it just wasn’t what we expected. Some participants arrived late, so we had to listen to the guide repeat the same information while we stood around. There weren’t really any demonstrations or anything you couldn’t experience just by walking around the winery yourself.
That said, I did enjoy learning a bit about the pyramid and the owner’s story. The highlight, though, was definitely the ice wine, SO delicious! It’s honestly the best ice wine I’ve ever had.
Mix feelings about this one. Definitely one of the best views in town. The food was good but quite expensive. Unfortunately, as it is a winery, the wines did not impress me.
Located only a few minutes from downtown Kelowna, you'll find a huge, heated terrace overlooking lake Okanagan, perfect to watch the sunset. You cannot beat that. Inside decor is... a tad weird. Not sure what is going on with all the sculptures and pyramid references?
We started with a wine tasting. They know their product but, except for their version of a champagne, I did not find anything of interest. The food was a redemption, I must say. Our server was sweet, and we had overall a great night. It is just so expensive for what it is. I guess you pay for the views? I've been told it's a very popular place, but we went on a Friday, and we were maybe nine people total, and our group counted for six. Oh well.
Beautiful setting. Lots to experience. My friend and I enjoyed a very delicious lunch (prawns, mushrooms, nice wine) on the patio, mid September, overlooking the lake and expansive vineyards. Excellent service, pleasant staff. Our visit to the Pyramid was awesome and, for me, a bucket list item checked as, finally, I got to see the historic Mallam House -- an original two storey log house with period decor and furnishings -- once occupied by my ancestor, Cecil Mallam, upon immigrating from England long ago.
I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. I WISH I COUlD GIVE 0 STAR. Shameless management.
I live in Vancouver for last 13 years, have visited many wineries but never experienced this discrimination. We were 3families ; a group of 7adult 3kids. We requested a table in patio and they first told us we don’t have space to arrange table for big group. So we requested we can take individual table per family. They said it’s against their rules and they cannnot break it. It didn’t make sense, then they gave us reason everything is fully reserved in patio, we could see they didn’t want us to sit in patio but after certain request unwillingly they gave us high table where 6 people could sit on barstools and regular table of 4. My 3years old was not comfortable sitting on barstool and wanted to sit on baby high chair, so she started crying and the waitress came and rudely told us to leave patio and move inside because of crying baby. We went inside and we still decide where to sit they just told bluntly and arrogantly to leave the place as they cannot accept crying baby. Why did you even asked us first to go inside if you didn’t want us to be there.
They could have said please comfort your baby and bring her back, but they wanted us to leave. Shame on management, such unwelcoming behaviour. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE
We had such a wonderful time at the Summerhill Pyramid Winery! The atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing, and the wines were excellent. A special thank you to Drake, who introduced us to the wines, he was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the tasting experience so enjoyable. Highly recommend visiting if you’re looking for a memorable winery experience!
Not impressed with the set up at all. Felt that the deco was tacky and the organic red wines did not appeal. The ice wines were much better.
I’ve been a guest for years but it’s been a bit so I was so excited to bring my girlfriend up for her anniversary.
It started out slow with no one coming to the table and we had to ask for service in which a lady comes rushing over to apologize and takes our drinks and appetizer order and then tells us someone else will be our server.
Our new server does not come over for a bit (10mins) and finally shows up when the drinks and appetizer were ready. She drops them off at the table and leaves and she does not provide any service, take our food order or tell us about the menu. When our appetizer was done and we finished our drinks, we had to requests to have our waitress come back to take the food order.
Needless to say the main courses arrived and what a disappointment. The vegan meatloaf was so dry and the gravy they used was thick and clumping tasting like flour so that was sent back. They didn’t offer my girlfriend anything else even though she returned the meatloaf which was terrible as she was still hungry. My dinner was the chicken supreme and it was a chicken wing/back and not even a breast. It was topped with a bbq sauce that tasted unpleasant while my vegetables were not fully cooked but covered in oil and the potatoes were cold.
It was by far a disappointing experience where the food and service completely missed the expectations.
And with the house flys everywhere in the restaurant it leaves you swatting flys the entire time.
Very sad anniversary dinner experience

Good wine tasting. Staff friendly and helpful.
Jackson was the first person that I interacted with over the phone and then when we first came in. He was engaging and so helpful with the reservation and then helping us with celebrating my husbands birthday! So amazing! Daniel gave us an awesome learning experience with the wine tasting! He was fun to talk to and he answered all of our questions! All in all it was a top notch time!
Terrible customer service.
Came here as it was my birthday. It was my first time visiting a winery in Kelowna and it was a special day. The man who served us was nice and he knew that it was my birthday, however I didn’t receive any special treatment to “tip” the server extra. I know how to treat a customer when they are visiting for a special occasion as I am a server somewhere else.
However, I didn’t receive any extra service. Anyways, I did pay him decent tip as the way he treated me. Later, he came up with a bill of different table and “compared” it with my tip saying that I should have tipped him “more”!!!!
I mean how can you say that to me??? It was my special day, and I came there to celebrate, but I wasn’t feeling anything there. And he humiliated me by comparing the tips of another table?????
Sorry, but I am not coming here again and never ever suggesting this place to anyone else.
Such a horrible experience on my birthday
My husband and I visited Summerhill Winery as part of our five-year anniversary trip to BC, and it was the perfect start to our winery experience. We decided to enjoy a glass of wine and some appies at the restaurant, and were lucky enough to get the best table.
Our server, Helena, was absolutely amazing! From the very beginning, she made us feel welcome and even recommended a few wines with some tastings to get us started. She was not only knowledgeable, but also funny, kind, and so easy to talk to—we built a great bond right away. Helena truly made our evening special and memorable.
If you are planning to dine at the restaurant, I highly recommend asking for Helena. She really elevated our experience and made our anniversary evening unforgettable!
