Our family’s go to spot for sushi. After living in vancouver for 8 years before moving to Kelowna, we realized we were spoiled with excellent sushi. It took a while but we finally found a place for sushi in Kelowna that matches the quality and price we loved in van. Ume is great. They also sell some Japanese products that are hard to find in regular grocery stores.

Used to eat here all of the time and order takeout but the size of their portions has gotten ridiculously small and the price has only gone up. Too bad it used to be a really good restaurant and decent food and decent portions for the money now it is way off balance. Will not be ordering here ever again.

Overall, food was not worth it. Simple rolls are pretty tasteless. They charged me an extra $1.00 for an extra dollop of Wasabi. The server was great, a young girl, and very nice to deal with. We won't be coming back. There is other sushi places that are better in the area.

Dietary restrictions: They have soy paper substitution for seaweed so I can enjoy sushi rolls too.

I love the Teriyaki Chicken Donburi here. The rice and tempura tasted so authentic and delicious. However, the Takoyaki tastes okay, not the best I’ve tried, it’s probably frozen Takoyaki, unlike the fresh ones that I tried in Japan.

I have been a regular at Ume since they opened in 2012. Absolutely recommend this sweet, inviting and amazing business!! The new location is delightful! The mushroom roll is consistent craving and the sushi is always fresh and incredibly tasty! I've never had a bad food or service experience at Ume. You've got to try Ume if you haven't already... I know you will be hooked!

My husband and I have been here many times and despite Ume being very unassuming, the staff are friendly and the food never dissapoints. This is especially great for us or anyone on a tighter budget (who isn't in Kelowna 2024) because the prices are so reasonable. You can have an entire meal for two, Including drinks, appetizers and the entree for under $50! And not be hungry after.We love it here and will continue to frequent this local hidden gem.?
