I have to say Maya Norte has been my favorite restaurant for years once I heard of this supper yummy, cute, colorful vibe and feel Mexican restaurant. I finished culinary school and have my own culinary experience and when I say the food is great I mean it! I Know we can all agree when we find a great place to eat. If you are look for a place to order a bunch of food and share it with your table this is the place. Maya Norte is one of the only restaurants I suggest to friends and family on the normal basis. I am very sad to see if close and I would like to thank the owners for hosting my family and I some wonderful meals over the years that we wont forget! :)

Loved this place! The nicest dinner spot in Ladysmith by far. Ambience was great, a little on the pricy side but worth it

Extremely expensive. You can’t charge full entree prices for thimbles full of tapas. In Spain each dish would be 6-7 Euros. Here they are $16-20+. Over $100 for two people at this place and we had to go to a different place afterwards to actually fill up.

My husband and I have dined here a few times and love the outdoor courtyard in the summer. This time, we were celebrating our anniversary and a birthday. The dining experience did not disappoint - delicious food and fantastic service. Highly recommend.

We ordered the crostini (goat cheese with puttanesca), chorizo, corn, cheese fritters, pan seared scallops with anchovy garlic butter and baguette, braised lamb shanks Spanish style with rice, Ribs with a Spanish glaze (we got four but we devoured 3 of them before I remembered to take a pic), and to top it all off with the Maya style churros with chocolate agavero sauce.

For beverages, El Petit Bonhomme Blanco wine and Agavero tequila liquor.

We went for our anniversary and what a fabulous meal! There was a such a nice buzz in the restaurant on a Wed. November night. Great service, wonderful food to share. We loved the bean dip for an appetizer and the daily specials had a wide range to select from. Margaritas both as a cocktail and as a mocktail were exceptional ..not too sweet and smooth tequila! The keylime pie to share ended a perfect evening with decaf coffee and a tequila liqueur. We have been before and will be back again. Love it everytime. Thanks Sheila & Drew

Came with a group after work this evening and was thoroughly impressed. Had not been there myself, but all the others are regulars and I can see why. Super atmosphere and the staff are very attentive and friendly. The food was the superstar, as we all just shared an awesome variety of tapas, and I had a hard time figuring out which my favourite was.
Possibly the calamari steak, or the scallops ceviche, or possibly the roasted brussel sprouts?…….. there were more! Topped of with delicious frozen key-lime pie. I will be back!

We loved this little spot in Ladysmith. The food menu was varied and everything we ate, we said yum yum too. The spicy margarita was delicious and if we weren’t on a big hike in the morning, we would have tried some tequila’s.
Friendly and great service.

Don’t bother. We had the prawn tacos and the fish taco. If we had known how spicy they were going to be we would not have ordered them. The heat made them tasteless. When the two prawn tacos orders arrived, it came with one tiny side of condiments although we had placed two orders. When we asked if each order came with the condiments we were told that they do not like to waste, so no you only get one. Overpriced, small portions.

I’m generally suspicious of weird fusion places but everything I ate here was great. Portion sizes were probably good for 2 so I would recommend asking the server if you’re in a bigger group. For example, we were a group of 4, ordered croquettes, and 3 showed up. Will definitely go here again next time I swing through here.

Stopped here on our way back to Victoria. First time here, the hostess talked us through the menu and tapas style food. Warned us the portions would be small.

We did not expect them to be that small.
I live in Vancouver and have been to a few tapas style restaurants. This was small, and in my opinion not worth the price.
