What a gem - authentic fusion of Spain and Mexico, the ambience is incomparable to anywhere in the area for a date night or a “getaway” from PNW weather… Victoria Tapa bar vibes but more intimate. The dedicated owners and staff prepare beautiful food and service, whether summer on the patio or cozy inside, you can’t go wrong. Order multiple flavorful plates to share, or try in a tequila flight with a nice array of Mexican beers to pair… highly recommend! Oh and house made tortillas

My daughter and I came in here for Mama daughter date night and everything was spectacular. The fusion between Mexican and Spanish was put together perfectly, the staff are very attentive and polite, and they are very knowledgeable on the cultures that the food is created from. There was absolutely nothing less than Perfection from our experience. I definitely highly recommend this restaurant!

First time for our family of 4. Hibiscus margaritas were amazing…. Actually, everything we had was amazing. Chips and guacamole, bacon wrapped dates, baked Brie, meat balls, calamari, scallops, shrimp tacos, corn fritters and Maya style tres leche cake. Highly recommend.

Absolutely a local gem. Each tapa dish came packed with so much flavor. The ribs were phenomenal. Bay scallops and ajillo prawns were cooked to perfection. Prawns and clams paella were flavorful. For a party of two, four tapas were plentiful in addition to two house breads.
Cozy seating inside with a vibrant backyard patio seatings. Staff is wonderful and warm but lacked prompt service. A bit chaotic with multiple servers serving us. The first round of tapas and cocktails came in at a moderate pace then our second round of cocktails were lost in the order until we had to remind two different servers. We were waiting for another round of dipping bread and that too was lost in the order for some time. Again, everyone who came by to check on us was super nice but would've been more efficient with one assigned server. It was a busy Friday night out on the patio and we were the only party sitting inside so perhaps we got lost in the shuffle. After all, we decided to have a nightcap in their patio lounge.
I can’t believe it has taken us this long to discover this gem. We sat on the back patio and it was absolutely gorgeous. Loved the ambience. Very hip yet quaint. The food … OMG. Absolutely delicious. We have the bread with olive oil and tomato which was out of this word! Also loved the ajillo mushrooms, quesadilla frita(from fresh board), Mexican corn … we wish we weren’t so full because there was so much more we wanted to try. Every single dish was absolutely delicious and freshly made. I am lucky because I get to frequent the island with my job and I will definitely be back here. In fact, I look forward to it!
Oh… And the margaritas were delicious as well!
And last, but definitely not least… The servers and staff. They were friendly, knowledgeable, attentive. Lovely experience all around. Exceeded expectations. 10 out of 10!
We really love this place! Great food and fun atmosphere. Also nice to be able to walk down to the ocean after at Transfer Beach. Across the street is also an EV charging station.

We frequently stop at Maya Norte on our travels between Victoria and Quadra Island. We do so because everything about this excellent dining experience is five star. Andrea tends to be our regular server; she is professional, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in our menu choices. The atmosphere is calming. The chefs always have a smile and kind word when we pass by the kitchen area toward the pleasing outdoor space or to use the clean washroom facilities. We regard a stopover at Maya Norte to be the highlight of our trip and highly recommend doing so if you are in the area of Ladysmith or passing through. Do not miss the specials, and the key lime pie for dessert!
