We went for Appy hour (3pm -5pm). My mom sat there for over 15 minutes and server kept walking by her, no acknowledgment whatsoever!!! We ordered the appy crab cakes. U get 3, not much bigger than a toonie and they charge $11.00!!! Needless to say, won't order those again.

I didn’t buy any food there but my nephew did. He bought a sandwich for $20 and said it was mediocre. The place is located on the floating pier area and it is a must see area to visit.

Fantastic environment right on the water, even better food. If you're on Vancouver island make this the one place you didn't miss.

“Service” is a term that the uninterested staff has not grasped. Maybe the young lady was having a bad day but she was certainly less than friendly.By the time we were served our lunch, we had waited 30 minutes and had started gnawing on the tables on the patio. The food was served (seared tuna tacos) and while it tasted ok, even if the tortillas were cold. Like, just out of the refrigerator. Maybe, I don’t know, just a thought, put the tortillas on the grill for 30 seconds?Nice patio for eating.

It is truly weird to find some of your best dining experiences in some truly 'End-of-the-World' locations. At the end of a backwater bay in the little British Columbia town of Ladysmith, the Oyster Bay Cafe provides an informal dining experience that would put 91% of its peers in major cities to shame! THE ROSES: Located on a dock in a tiny, 'Blink-and-You'll-Miss-It' marina in the aforementioned backwater village of Ladysmith, BC, the Oyster Bay Cafe is a small cafe that shares its space with the marina office of the Ladysmith Community Marina. The dining space (inside and out) is light, airy, and spooky clean. The staff is an absolute delight: they are eager to please and if you have any dietary restrictions, they will go out of their way to accommodate you as much as they can. The food is very amazing: the menu has many dishes that are playful and innovative, yet deliver on everything they promise. The Ahi Tuna burger is nothing short of a revelation: expertly seared on the outside, juicy and rare on the inside, with a teriyaki-like sauce that plays well with the fish and doesn't overpower. At breakfast, the Seafood Bennie is a wonderful interpretation of the brunch classic. Prices are very reasonable as well. THE THORNS: So many good things - I wish there were more choices on the menu! THE VERDICT: Like the scrappy little bantamweight boxer, the Oyster Bay Cafe punches WELL above its weight! Great food and skilled service by a deceptively young, charming, and attractive staff make this diminutive eatery well worth looking for if you're traveling along the east side of Canada's Vancouver Island! Very heartily recommend; get in here!

Incredible view with disappointing food and mediocre service. 30+ minutes wait times for basic dry chicken wrap.

Totally tasty. Happy hour menu delicious! Nachos with awesome mango chutney... that's even more awesome on the crabcakes! Super setting. Floating resto! Beautiful fleet of Chriscrafts on display! I'll be back!

Wonderful find on the water. Open summer only. Out on a dock on a small Marina. Lovely. We stopped in for happy hour. They only had a few snacks available and we ordered them all. Caesar salad. Crab cakes. Ribs. Chips with Mango salsa. We ordered them all and ended up ordering a second round. Will come back for dinner with our pups next time. (Dogs welcome on the patio.)

Cute spot for lunch on the water. Great menu selection and atmosphere.I ordered the Chicken Santa Fe wrap and had them leave out the chicken (vegetarian) the woman taking our order went the extra mile to see if it was an allergy issue or not.The food was fresh and flavorful.Helpful Tip: we bought water bottles with our meals as we were unaware that there is actually free water available. There is a water dispenser near the door out to the patio and mason jars are provided in the same spot.Vegetarian options: They had one main item that was vegetarian but were VERY accommodating with adjusting other options to be vegetarian.Parking: There is a small strip of free parking at the entrance to the dock. It probably holds 20-25 cars.Wheelchair accessibility: Once parked the ramp and the whole marina would be easy to get around in a wheelchair. However, the parking lot is uneven dirt & rocks.

A lovely outdoor patio where you can watch the boats at the marina. We didn't have reservations but they were able to squeeze us in.
